Evidencia científica sobre el rol de la enfermera en la prevención de eventos adversos en quirófano

Abstract

El profesional de enfermería como especialista en centro quirúrgico cumple un rol importante en la prevención de eventos adversos en quirófano, brindando seguridad y salvaguardando la salud del paciente quirúrgico. Durante la etapa peri operatoria el paciente que va ser intervenido quirúrgicamente está expuesto a sufrir eventos que podrían complicar su situación, para ello el personal de enfermería debe contar con conocimientos previos y así poder evaluar e identificar los factores riesgo a los que están expuestos dependiendo del tipo de cirugía a realizarse. La prevención de eventos adversos engloba la participación de manera conjunta de todo el equipo quirúrgico. objetivo general: Determinar el rol de la enfermera en la prevención de eventos adversos en quirófano. Metodología: Revisión bibliográfica y análisis de artículos científicos en la base de datos: Dialnet, Scielo, Google académico, PubMed, Sciencedirect, y Redalyc. Se revisaron un total de 80 artículos, las cuales, aplicando los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se analizaron 30 de relevancia científica, publicados entre los años 2016 y 2022. Conclusiones: Se concluye que para la prevención de eventos adversos en quirófano durante la etapa peri operatoria, en las tres fases quirúrgicas (pre, trans y posoperatorio) el personal de enfermería debe enfocar los cuidados aplicando los lineamientos de seguridad quirúrgica, la pausa quirúrgica mediante el uso correcto del check list desde el ingreso del paciente y promoviendo una cultura de seguridad que permita la participación de todo el equipo quirúrgico.

The nursing professional as a specialist in the surgical center plays an important role in the prevention of adverse events in the operating room, providing safety and safeguarding the health of the surgical patient. During the perioperative stage, the patient who is going to undergo surgery is exposed to events that could complicate their situation, for this the nursing staff must have previous knowledge and thus be able to evaluate and identify the risk factors to which they are exposed depending on the type of surgery to be performed. The prevention of adverse events encompasses the joint participation of the entire surgical team. General objective: Determine the role of the nurse in the prevention of adverse events in the operating room. Methodology: Bibliographic review and analysis of scientific articles in the database: Dialnet, Scielo, Google Scholar, PubMed, Sciencedirect, and Redalyc. A total of 80 articles were reviewed, which, applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 30 of scientific relevance, published between 2016 and 2022, were analyzed. Conclusions: It is concluded that for the prevention of adverse events in the operating room during the perioperative stage, in the three surgical phases (pre, trans and postoperative) the nursing staff must focus care applying surgical safety guidelines, surgical pause through the use correct checklist from the patient's admission and promoting a culture of safety that allows the participation of the entire surgical team.
