Evidencias del impacto emocional en niños menores de 15 años y sus cuidadores que acuden a un hospital pediátrico de Lima

Abstract

La atención hospitalaria en niños suele desatar estados emocionales; por ello, es fundamental que los cuidadores eviten las reacciones intensas que afecten la integridad de ambos actores. Lamentablemente, la práctica hospitalaria revela un escenario infausto, en donde se suele solicitar la salida del cuidador para estabilizar emocionalmente a los niños. Por ello, es necesario analizar las evidencias del impacto emocional en niños menores de 15 años y sus cuidadores que acuden a un hospital pediátrico de Lima, para lograr este objetivo se identificará de forma individual el impacto emocional en niños y cuidadores (objetivos específicos). Cuerpo: Es un estudio monográfico, documental que analizó 30 investigaciones indexadas y publicadas entre el 2019 y 2023. Resultados: De las 30 investigaciones, el 53.4% corresponden al buscador PubMed, 23.4% Science Direct, 10% Wiley Online Library y 3.3% NepJOL, ESCI, Vía Médica Journals y SCOPUS. Entre ellas el 36.6% fueron publicadas en el 2019, 23.3% 2020, 26.7% 2021, 6.7% 2022 y 6.7% 2023. Además, la mayor parte de investigaciones evaluaron el impacto emocional en el servicio de emergencia (63.3%) y en las siguientes cohortes: 50% en niños, 40% en cuidadores y 10% en ambos, destacando al miedo, ansiedad, angustia, síntomas de depresión/depresión e ira como principales respuestas emocionales. Conclusiones: El impacto emocional en niños menores de 15 años y sus cuidadores que acuden a un hospital pediátrico se reflejó en el miedo, ansiedad, angustia, síntomas de depresión/ depresión e ira.

Hospital care in children often triggers emotional states; therefore, it is essential that caregivers avoid intense reactions that affect the integrity of both actors. Unfortunately, hospital practice reveals an unfortunate scenario, where the caregiver is often asked to leave in order to emotionally stabilize the children. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the evidence of the emotional impact on children under 15 years of age and their caregivers who attend a pediatric hospital in Lima. To achieve this objective, the emotional impact on children and caregivers will be individually identified (specific objectives). Body: It is a monographic, documentary study that analyzed 30 indexed researches published between 2019 and 2023. Results: Of the 30 researches, 53.4% corresponded to the PubMed search engine, 23.4% Science Direct, 10% Wiley Online Library and 3.3% in NepJOL, ESCI, Via Medica Journals and SCOPUS. Among them 36.6% were published in 2019, 23.3% 2020, 26.7% 2021, 6.7% 2022 and 6.7% 2023. In addition, most research evaluated the emotional impact in the emergency department (63.3%) and in the following cohorts: 50% in children, 40% in caregivers and 10% in both, highlighting fear, anxiety, distress, symptoms of depression/depression and anger as the main emotional responses. Conclusions: The emotional impact on children under 15 years of age and caregivers attending a pediatric hospital was reflected in fear, anxiety, distress, symptoms of depression/depression and anger.
