Calidad de vida en adolescentes con fisura labio alveolo palatina de un centro dental docente en Lima-Perú, 2024

Abstract

Introducción: Las fisuras labio alveolo Palatina (FLAP), son malformaciones congénitas que alteran las funciones estéticas, masticatorias y fonéticas. Los pacientes con FLAP son sometidos a temprana edad a múltiples tratamientos por equipos multidisciplinarios muchas veces los adolescentes son afectados en su parte social, estética y funcional llegando ser víctimas de burlas y de acoso escolar presentando una baja calidad de vida con respecto al resto de adolescentes. La calidad de vida es un componente esencial en la salud, actualmente existen pocos estudios sobre la calidad de vida en adolescentes con FLAP y cómo influye en lo personal, social y estético. Objetivo: Determinar la calidad de vida de los adolescentes con fisura labial alveolo palatina en un Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia en Lima-Perú. 2024. Materiales y métodos: El presente estudio será prospectivo, descriptivo, observacional y transversal. Procedimientos básicos, se procederá a usar la técnica de encuesta a los adolescentes de 11 a 17 años, con el cuestionario de perfil de impacto de salud oral en niños (COHIP-SF19) instrumento que medirá la calidad de vida consta de 19 preguntas en base a tres dimensiones, síntomas orales, bienestar funcional y bienestar socioemocional, que serán respondidas en base a la escala Likert. Se realizará el análisis descriptivo y bivariado con las pruebas de T de Student y Anova, siempre y cuando se garantice la normalidad mediante la prueba Shapiro Wilk, caso contrario se emplearán las pruebas U de Mann Whitney y Kruskal Wallis. El presente estudio utilizará un nivel de confianza de 95%.

Introduction: Cleft lip and palate (FLAP) are congenital malformations that alter aesthetic, chewing and phonetic functions. Patients with FLAP are subjected at an early age to multiple treatments by multidisciplinary teams. Many times, adolescents are affected socially, aesthetically and functionally, becoming victims of teasing and bullying, presenting a low quality of life compared to the rest of adolescents. . Quality of life is an essential component in health; currently there are few studies on the quality of life in adolescents with FLAP and how it influences the personal, social and aesthetic aspects. Objective: To determine the quality of life of adolescents with cleft lip and palate in a Teaching Dental Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima-Peru. 2024. Materials and methods: The present study will be prospective, descriptive, observational and cross-sectional. Basic procedures, the survey technique will be used for adolescents from 11 to 17 years old, with the oral health impact profile questionnaire in children (COHIP-SF19), an instrument that will measure quality of life, consisting of 19 questions based on to three dimensions, oral symptoms, functional well-being and socio-emotional well-being, which will be answered based on the Likert scale. The descriptive and bivariate analysis will be carried out with the Student T and Anova tests, as long as normality is guaranteed by the Shapiro Wilk test, otherwise the Mann Whitney and Kruskal Wallis U tests will be used. The present study will use a 95% confidence level.
