Consideraciones en el abordaje fisioterapéutico de un paciente post operado de lesión de menisco medial en el periodo setiembre-febrero 2023, Lima-Perú

Abstract

Introducción: Las lesiones de menisco son unas de las lesiones más comunes de la rodilla. Su incidencia y prevalencia varían según la edad y el sexo. La cirugía es el tratamiento principal después de una lesión, y la fisioterapia juega un papel crucial en la rehabilitación postoperatoria para el retorno al deporte. Objetivos: Describir las consideraciones en el abordaje fisioterapéutico aplicado a una paciente post artroscopia de menisco interno en septiembre 2022 a febrero 2023 en un centro privado Lima-Perú. Descripción de la experiencia: Se llevó a cabo una intervención fisioterapéutica a un corredor aficionado de 40 años post artroscopia de menisco medial. La rehabilitación se dividió en 4 fases en donde se incorporaron ejercicios de movimiento y carga de peso tempranos, así como, ejercicios fisioterapéuticos progresivos ligados al deporte y fortalecimiento muscular. Conclusión: Al diseñar un plan de rehabilitación, es clave considerar el enfoque personalizado del paciente y sus expectativas para un retorno seguro al deporte. Integrar evidencia científica actualizada ayuda a optimizar el tratamiento y reducir el tiempo de recuperación. Aunque la información científica sobre nuestro tema fue dispersa, se lograron cumplir los objetivos.

Introduction: Meniscal injuries are among the most common knee injuries. Their incidence and prevalence vary according to age and gender. Surgery is the main treatment after injury, and physiotherapy plays a crucial role in postoperative rehabilitation for return to sport. Objectives: To describe the physiotherapeutic approach applied to a patient after internal meniscus arthroscopy in September 2022 to February 2023 in a private center in Lima-Peru. Description of the experience: A physiotherapeutic intervention was carried out on a 40-year-old amateur runner after medial meniscus arthroscopy. Rehabilitation was divided into 4 phases where early movement and weight bearing exercises were incorporated, as well as progressive physiotherapeutic exercises linked to sport and muscle strengthening. Conclusion: When designing a rehabilitation plan, it is crucial to consider the personalized approach of the patient and their expectations for a safe return to sports. Integrating up-to-date scientific evidence helps optimize treatment and shorten recovery time. Despite the scattered scientific information on our topic, the goals were achieved.
