El cuidado oportuno sobre el catéter venoso central debe ser tratado de manera constante es y la responsabilidad recae en el equipo de enfermería. Los cuidados son fundamentales para prevenir infecciones en el sitio de inserción que, de presentarse, pueden generar complicaciones y otros daños en el paciente. Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimientos acerca de la prevención de infecciones por uso de catéter venoso central en profesionales de enfermería del servicio de emergencia de un hospital público durante el año 2025.Materiales y métodos: se llevará a cabo un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, descriptivo y transversal. El método e instrumento de recopilación de datos será la aplicación de un cuestionario diseñado para determinar el grado de conocimiento del equipo de enfermería sobre cómo prevenir las infecciones relacionadas con el catéter venoso central. Después de recibir el consentimiento informado de los participantes, los datos obtenidos se analizarán cuantitativamente mediante el cálculo de medidas de tendencia central, y se presentarán de forma visual en cuadros y gráficos estadísticos.
Resumen
Timely care concerning the central venous catheter must be treated constantly, and the responsibility falls upon the nursing team. The cares are fundamental for preventing infections at the insertion site which, if presented, can generate complications and other harm to the patient. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge about the prevention of infections due to the use of a central venous catheter in nursing professionals of the emergency department of a public hospital during the year 2025. Materials and Methods: A study with a quantitative approach will be carried out, featuring a non-experimental, descriptive, and transversal design. The method and instrument for data collection will be the application of a questionnaire designed to determine the degree of knowledge of the nursing team about how to prevent infections related to the central venous catheter. After receiving the informed consent of the participants, the obtained data will be analyzed quantitatively through the calculation of measures of central tendency, and will be presented visually in tables and statistical graphs.
