Repercusión de la movilidad social en la salud bucal de migrantes venezolanos en Perú

Abstract

Introducción: La movilidad social es la transición de una persona de una posición social a otra de diferente nivel, existen dos tipos de movilidad social, tipo horizontal y la vertical. En Latinoamérica se ha visto un fenómeno demográfico social denominado migración Sur-Sur. Este fenómeno migratorio es considerado un determinante social con alto impacto en las inequidades en salud bucal, tal es el caso de los migrantes venezolanos. Objetivo: Analizar la repercusión de la movilidad social en la salud bucal de migrantes venezolanos en Perú Materiales y métodos: Se realizo un estudio cualitativo con diseño fenomenológico descriptivo. Se empleo un muestreo por conveniencia donde se recluto a migrantes venezolanos. Respecto al tamaño muestral se comenzó con un mínimo de 8 migrantes entrevistados (4 con atención odontológica y 4 sin atención odontológica). Se realizo la entrevista a profundidad, el análisis de contenido, la recolección y organización de los datos obtenidos. Posteriormente, fue transcrito verbalmente y se hallaron las unidades de significado correspondientes. Resultados y discusión: Los entrevistados consideran que todos los conocimientos adquiridos relacionados a su salud bucal fueron aprendidos desde su hogar, refieren que presentaron cambios posistivos como negativos al migrar a Perú dependiendo el tipo de movilidad social al que pertenecen y según su condición salarial solventarían sus gastos odontológicos o asistirían en caso de emergencia. Conclusion: La movilidad social repercute en la salud bucal de los migrantes influenciando en su calidad de vida.

Introduction: Social mobility is the transition of a person from one social position to another of a different level, there are two types of social mobility, horizontal and vertical type. In Latin America there has been a social demographic phenomenon called South-South migration. This migratory phenomenon is considered a social determinant with a high impact on inequities in oral health, such is the case of Venezuelan migrants. Objective: To analyze the impact of social mobility on the oral health of Venezuelan migrants in Peru. Materials and methods: A qualitative study with a descriptive phenomenological design was carried out. A convenience sampling was used where Venezuelan migrants were recruited. Regarding the sample size, we began with a minimum of 8 migrants interviewed (4 with dental care and 4 without dental care). The in-depth interview, the content analysis, the collection and organization of the data obtained were carried out. Subsequently, it was transcribed verbally and the corresponding units of meaning were found. Results and discussion: The interviewees consider that all the knowledge acquired related to their oral health was learned from home, they report that they presented positive and negative changes when migrating to Peru depending on the type of social mobility to which they belong and according to their salary condition they would solve their dental expenses or assist in an emergency. Conclusion: Social mobility affects the oral health of migrants, influencing their quality of life.
