Medidas de prevención frente al riesgo de infección de la herida quirúrgica en centro quirúrgico

Abstract

Introducción: El 20% de infecciones hospitalarias se deben a heridas quirúrgicas, representando uno de los factores que incrementa la tasa de mortalidad y complicaciones posteriores al acto quirúrgico, siendo por ello necesario aplicar medidas preventivas para contrarrestar esta problemática. Objetivo: Analizar según aportes bibliográficos las medidas de prevención aplicadas por el profesional de enfermería frente al riesgo de infección de la herida quirúrgica en centro quirúrgico. Metodología: Revisión bibliográfica, descriptiva y retrospectiva. Se seleccionaron 20 artículos teniendo en cuenta criterios de inclusión como artículos originales, publicados entre 2016 y 2020, sean de idioma español, inglés y portugués. Las bases informáticas para la búsqueda usadas: Elseiver, Scielo, Cochrane y Dialnet. Se usaron los operadores booleanos AND y OR. Resultados: Dentro de las medidas preventivas frente al riesgo de infección de la herida quirúrgica, 10 (50%) estudios enfatizan en el lavado de manos, 8 (40%) mencionan a la lista de verificación de cirugía segura y 7 (35%) a la aplicación de protocolos de enfermería en centro quirúrgico. Conclusiones: La mayoría de estudios señalan al lavado de manos como medidas de prevención frente al riesgo de infección de la herida quirúrgica.

Introduction: 20% of hospital infections are due to surgical wounds, representing one of the factors that increases the rate of mortality and complications after the surgical act, therefore it is necessary to apply preventive measures to counteract this problem. Objective: To analyze, according to bibliographic contributions, the prevention measures applied by the nursing professional against the risk of infection of the surgical wound in the surgical center. Methodology: Retrospective, descriptive and bibliographic review. Twenty articles were selected taking into account inclusion criteria as original articles, published between 2016 and 2020, in Spanish, English and Portuguese. The computer bases for the search used: Elseiver, Scielo, Cochrane and Dialnet. The Boolean operators AND and OR were used. Results: Among the preventive measures against the risk of infection of the surgical wound, 10 (50%) studies emphasize hand washing, 8 (40%) mention the safe surgery checklist and 7 (35%) the application of nursing protocols in the surgical center. Conclusions: Most studies point to hand washing as preventive measures against the risk of infection of the surgical wound.
