Maltrato infantil y conductas de riesgo en adolescentes de 12 a 17 años de edad del Perú – ENARES 2019

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre el maltrato infantil y conductas de riesgo en adolescentes de 12 a 17 años de edad del Perú. El estudio se realizó empleando la base de datos tomada por ENARES – 2019, la cual es de libre acceso y está disponible en el foro público del Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI). Este estudio es de nivel básico y corresponde a un diseño transaccional correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 1573 adolescentes de 12 a 17 años de edad, de los 24 departamentos del Perú, considerando 93 Instituciones Educativas del Nivel Secundario, siendo 67 del área urbana y 26 del área rural. El instrumento aplicado fue la Encuesta Nacional de Relaciones Sociales (ENARES), la cual mide aspectos sociodemográficos del adolescente, relaciones sociales y redes de apoyo (que incluye la identificación de violencia en hogares y escuelas), y la percepción acerca de los roles y derechos de género. Para el análisis de los datos, se empleó el estadístico Chi Cuadrado. Los resultados evidenciaron que existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre las variables maltrato infantil y conductas de riesgo (χ2= 24,243). Asimismo, se encontró que el tipo de maltrato infantil que predomina es la exposición a la violencia, mientras que la conducta de riesgo más recurrente es el consumo de sustancias. Finalmente, se halló que existe asociación entre las variables maltrato infantil y conductas de riesgo según sexo.

This research aims to determine the relationship between child abuse and risk behaviors in adolescents from 12 to 17 years of age in Perú. The study was carried out using the database taken by ENARES – 2019, which is freely accessible and available in the public forum of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI in spanish). This study is a basic level and corresponds to a correlational transactional design. The sample was made up of 1573 adolescents from 12 to 17 years old, from the 24 departments of Perú, considering 93 Educational Institutions of the Secondary Level, being 67 from the urban area and 26 from the rural area. The instrument applied was the Encuesta Nacional de Relaciones Sociales (ENARES), which measures sociodemographic aspects of the adolescent, social relations and support networks (which includes the identification of violence in home and schools) and the perception about gender roles and rights. For data analysis, the Chi-Square statistic was used. The results showed that there is a relationship between the variables child abuse and risk behaviors (χ2= 24,243). Also, it was found that the most prevalent type of child abuse is the exposure to violence, while the most recurrent risk behavior is substance use. Finally, it was found that there is an association between the variables child abuse and risk behaviors according to sex.
