Evaluación tomográfica del ángulo de Collum en incisivos superiores e inferiores según las maloclusiones clase I, II-1, II-2, III en la Clínica Estomatológica Cayetano Heredia 2018

Abstract

Objective: To determine the Collum angle (CA) in the upper and lower central and lateral incisors in the different malocclusions using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) Methods and Materials: Descriptive and cross-sectional study. 80 CBCT scans were evaluated using the Real Scan software 2.0, which were classified into class I, II-1, II-2 and III malocclusion according to the clinical records of the Orthodontic and Maxillary Orthopedics area of the teaching dental clinic of the Faculty of Stomatology of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (FAEST-UPCH). The CA of the upper and lower incisors was calculated by subtracting 180° minus the crown-root angle. This angle was measured using the longitudinal axis of the crown and the longitudinal axis of the root in the sagittal plane. Results: The CA had a statistically significant difference (p <0.05) in the 4 upper incisors in class II-2 malocclusion compared to class I, class II-1 and Class III malocclusion, this being a CA of 14.70° in the right upper central incisor, 10.60° in the right upper lateral incisor, 12.45° in the upper left central incisor and 10.55° in the left upper lateral incisor. Conclusion: The CA was greater in the upper central and lateral incisors in the class II-2 malocclusion compared to the others evaluated by CBCT.

Objetivo: Determinar el ángulo de Collum (AC) en incisivos centrales y laterales superiores e inferiores en las diferentes maloclusiones mediante tomografía computarizada de haz cónico (TCHC). Métodos y Materiales: Estudio descriptivo y transversal. Se evaluaron 80 TCHC por medio del software Real Scan 2.0, las cuales se clasificaron en maloclusión clase I, II-1, II-2 y III según las historias clínicas del área de Ortodoncia y Ortopedia maxilar de la clínica dental docente de la Facultad de Estomatología de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (FAEST-UPCH). El AC de los incisivos superiores e inferiores se calculó restando 180° menos el ángulo corono-radicular, el cual fue medido utilizando el eje longitudinal de la corona y eje longitudinal de la raíz en el plano sagital. Resultados: El AC tuvo una diferencia estadísticamente significativa (p<0.05) en los 4 incisivos superiores en la maloclusión clase II-2 comparada con la maloclusión clase I, clase II-1 y clase III, siendo la medida de 14.70° en incisivo central superior derecho, 10.60° en incisivo lateral superior derecho, 12.45° en incisivo central superior izquierdo y 10.55° en incisivo lateral superior izquierdo. Conclusión: El AC fue mayor en los incisivos centrales y laterales superiores en la maloclusión clase II-2 comparados con las demás maloclusiones.
