Efectividad del uso de aplicaciones tecnológicas en los tratamientos de niños con TEA: una revisión literaria

Abstract

El aumento de la prevalencia de Trastorno del Espectro Autista (TEA) a nivel mundial, así como la revolución tecnológica, ha generado la necesidad de analizar la evidencia científica sobre el uso de aplicaciones tecnológicas en los tratamientos de niños con TEA, así como identificar qué áreas de dificultad del diagnóstico son las más frecuente a tratar con estas y los pro y/o contras de su uso, ello se realizó a través de la sistematización de los artículos bajo el método PRISMA (artículos dónde se ponen a prueba aplicaciones tecnológicas en población de niños con TEA entre 2020 al 2024 en español, inglés y portugués), siendo 22 los seleccionados. Se halló que el uso de estos aplicativos en su mayoría se encuentran dirigidas a intervenir en habilidades de comunicación social 81.8%, aunque algunos muestran resultados de eficacia parcial (31.8%), específicamente por la dificultades que se presentan porque se ve afectada la eficacia por la coocurrencia (afectación cognitiva), costos de la tecnología y/o la necesidad de entrenamiento para su aplicación, sin embargo, como pros de su uso se identifica el tiempo de adquisición de una conducta nueva y alta motivación por los aparatos entre otros.

The increase in the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) worldwide, as well as the technological revolution, has generated the need to analyze the scientific evidence on the use of technological applications in the treatment of children with ASD, as well as to identify which areas of diagnostic difficulty are the most frequent to treat with these and the pros and / or cons of their use, this was done through the systematization of the articles under the PRISMA method (articles where technological applications are tested in the population of children with ASD between 2020 and 2024 in Spanish, English and Portuguese), with 22 being selected. It was found that the use of these applications is mostly aimed at intervening in social communication skills 81.8%, although some show results of partial effectiveness (31.8%), specifically due to the difficulties that arise because the effectiveness is affected by co-occurrence (cognitive affectation), costs of the technology and/or the need for training for its application, however, as pros of its use the time of acquisition of a new behavior and high motivation for the devices are identified, among others.
