Ventilación no invasiva en pacientes con neumonía por SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) en la unidad de cuidados intensivos

Abstract

Antecedentes: La ventilación no invasiva (VNI), consiste en la administración de soporte ventilatorio sin utilizar una vía aérea invasiva, convirtiéndose hoy en día en una herramienta completa e integral para el tratamiento de la insuficiencia respiratoria aguda y crónica en las unidades de cuidados intensivos, remplazando a la ventilación invasiva. A raíz de la pandemia por SARS-COV2 (COVID-19), la utilización del VNI sea extendido a nivel mundial. Objetivo: Describir la ventilación no invasiva en pacientes con neumonía por SARS-COV2 (COVID-19) en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos en los últimos 05 años. Metodología: es una revisión bibliográfica de artículos científicos, de tipo descriptiva; se desarrolló una revisión en diferentes bases de datos: LILACS, SCIELO, CUIDEN, PUBMED, DIALNET y MEDLINE. Resultados: inicialmente se ubicaron 100 artículos de los cuales 20 cumplen con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión; siendo un recurso para dar soporte respiratorio a los pacientes. Conclusiones: la VNI es un recurso terapéutico de soporte vital, que brinda considerables beneficios a los pacientes con neumonía por SARS-COV2; es una alternativa para evitar la intubación y sus posibles complicaciones; Esto implica, considerar que el personal de enfermería debe estar preparado, contar con los conocimientos, habilidades para el manejo de estos pacientes con características determinadas.

Background: Non-invasive ventilation (NIV) consists of the administration of ventilatory support without using an invasive airway, becoming today a complete and comprehensive tool for the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory failure in intensive care units, replacing to invasive ventilation. As a result of the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic, the use of NIV is widespread worldwide. Objective: To describe non-invasive ventilation in patients with SARS-COV2 (COVID-19) pneumonia in the Intensive Care Unit in the last 05 years. Methodology: it is a descriptive bibliographic review of scientific articles; a review was developed in different databases: LILACS, SCIELO, CUIDEN, PUBMED, DIALNET and MEDLINE. Results: initially 100 articles were located, of which 20 met the inclusion and exclusion criteria; being a resource to give respiratory support to patients. Conclusions: NIV is a life support therapeutic resource that provides considerable benefits to patients with SARS-COV2 pneumonia; it is an alternative to avoid intubation and its possible complications; this implies, considering that the nursing staff must be prepared, have the knowledge and skills to manage these patients with certain characteristics.
