Características epidemiológicas y clínicas de perros positivos Ehrlichia y Anaplasma spp. en un centro veterinario de Chincha Alta, Ica – Perú en el periodo 2019 - 2022

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue describir las características clínicas y epidemiológicas registradas en 300 historias clínicas de perros diagnosticados como positivos a Ehrlichia y/o Anaplasma spp., en un centro veterinario privado de la ciudad de Chincha Alta. El estudio fue de tipo observacional descriptivo, retrospectivo. La información obtenida y las variables en evaluación fueron transferidas a una base de datos del Programa Microsoft Excel; a partir del cual se obtuvo la estadística descriptiva. Se determinó que del total de pacientes de las historias clínicas, el 42% eran positivos a Ehrlichia spp., el 23% era positivo a Anaplasma spp. y el 35% positivos a ambas enfermedades. Del mismo modo, se concluyó que las variables, signos clínicos (inapetencia y letargia), valores hematológicos (monocitosis y anemia) así como la condición de adulto, macho y raza mestizo se presentaron con mayor frecuencia entre los registros de animales positivos a Anaplasma spp. y/o Ehrlichia spp Los hallazgos encontrados en el estudio permiten al clínico poder identificar la presencia de estas enfermedades en un estadío temprano mediante la identificación de las diversas características clínicas y epidemiológicas que estas presentan; para que, de esta manera, se haga una correcta evaluación del paciente, así como el tratamiento del mismo.

The objective of the study was to describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics recorded in 300 medical records of dogs diagnosed as positive for Ehrlichia and/or Anaplasma spp., in a private veterinary center in the city of Chincha Alta. The study was retrospective, descriptive, observational. The information obtained and the variables under evaluation were transferred to a Microsoft Excel Program database; from which the descriptive statistics were obtained. It was determined that of the total number of patients in the medical records, 42% were positive for Ehrlichia spp., 23% were positive for Anaplasma spp. and 35% positive to both diseases. In the same way, it was concluded that the variables, clinical signs (inappetence and lethargy), hematological values (monocytosis and anemia) as well as the condition of adult, male and mestizo breed were present with greater frequency among the records of animals positive for Anaplasma spp. and/or Ehrlichia spp. The findings found in the study allow the clinician to identify the presence of these diseases at an early stage by identifying the various clinical and epidemiological characteristics that they present; so that in this way a correct evaluation of the patient is made as well as the treatment of the same.
