Evaluación tomográfica del grosor de las raíces y tablas óseas de los premolares y molares maxilares, y evaluación de su cercanía al piso del seno maxilar en pacientes que acudieron al Servicio de Radiología Oral y Maxilofacial del Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia en la sede San Isidro periodo 2017-2019

Abstract

El conocimiento de los grosores: apicales, de tablas óseas vestibulares y la cercanía al seno maxilar de premolares y molares maxilares, es fundamental en tratamientos endodónticos quirúrgicos para evitar accidentes y complicaciones. Objetivo: Evaluar el grosor de las raíces y tablas óseas de los dientes maxilares posteriores, y evaluación de su cercanía al piso del seno maxilar en pacientes que acudieron al servicio de radiología oral y maxilofacial del Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia en la sede San Isidro periodo 2017-2019. Materiales y métodos: El presente estudio fue de tipo observacional, descriptivo, transversal, retrospectivo. Se evaluaron CBCT que cumplieron con los criterios de selección. Resultados: El mayor grosor de la tabla vestibular fue en las piezas 17 y 27, el menor grosor de la tabla vestibular fue en las piezas 14 y 24. El mayor grosor apical fue en las piezas 17 y 27 con una raíz única, el menor grosor apical fue en las piezas 14 y 24 a nivel de la raíz palatina. La mayor distancia al piso del seno maxilar fue en las piezas 15 y 25 cuando se presentó raíz única, y la menor distancia fue en las piezas 27 en la raíz mesiovestibular y 16 en la raíz palatina. Conclusiones: El grosor apical y el grosor de las tablas óseas vestibulares disminuyó desde las segundas molares hasta las primeras premolares, la distancia de los ápices radiculares al piso del seno maxilar, aumentó desde las segundas molares a las primeras premolares maxilares.

Have the knowledge of the thicknesses: apical, vestibular bone tables and the proximity to the maxillary sinus of maxillary premolars and molars is essential in surgical endodontic treatments to avoid accidents and complications. Objective: To evaluate the thickness of the roots and bone tables of the posterior maxillary teeth, and evaluation of their proximity to the floor of the maxillary sinus in patients who attended the oral and maxillofacial radiology service of the Teaching Dental Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in the San Isidro headquarters period 2017-2019. Materials and methods: The present study was observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective. CBCTs that met the selection criteria were evaluated. Results: The greatest thickness of the vestibular table was in pieces 17 and 27, the smallest thickness of the vestibular table was in pieces 14 and 24. The greatest apical thickness was in pieces 17 and 27 with a single root, the smallest Apical thickness was in teeth 14 and 24 at the level of the palatal root. The greatest distance to the floor of the maxillary sinus was in pieces 15 and 25 when a single root was present, and the shortest distance was in pieces 27 in the mesiobuccal root and 16 in the palatal root. Conclusions: The apical thickness and the thickness of the vestibular bone tables decreased from the second molars to the first premolars, the distance of the root apices to the floor of the maxillary sinus increased from the second molars to the maxillary first premolars.
