Autoestima y consumo de alcohol en adolescentes mujeres de 13 a 17 años en una institución educativa pública de nivel secundario. Arequipa, 2019

Abstract

La investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la asociación entre autoestima y consumo de alcohol en adolescentes mujeres de nivel secundario. El enfoque de investigación es cuantitativo, con diseño no experimental, de corte transversal; de tipo descriptivo correlacional. La población estuvo constituida por 196 adolescentes de 13 a 17 años. La Muestra es No Probabilística y Representativa, de tipo intencional o por conveniencia. Se utilizó el Test de AUDIT y Autoestima, procesados mediante el SPSS-23. Para evaluar la asociación entre variables se empleó la prueba de chi-cuadrado. Se demostró que existe asociación inversa entre autoestima y consumo de alcohol en adolescentes de 13 a 17 años de nivel secundario; por lo que, a mayor autoestima existe menor posibilidad de consumo de alcohol (40.3%) y a menor autoestima mayor posibilidad de problemas físico-psíquicos con la bebida y probablemente dependencia alcohólica con un 2.6%; asimismo, el 6.6% presentaron autoestima baja consideradas bebedoras en riesgo. Asimismo, la mayoría de adolescentes no presentan problemas con el consumo de alcohol (79.1%), el 15.8% son bebedoras en riesgo y el 5.1% presentan problemas físico-psíquicos con la bebida y probablemente dependencia alcohólica. La mayoría tienen autoestima alta (46.4%), el 30.1% autoestima media y el 23.5% autoestima baja.

The objective of the research is to determine the association between self-esteem and alcohol consumption in female adolescents at the secondary level. The research approach is quantitative, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design; correlational descriptive type. The population consisted of 196 adolescents from 13 to 17 years old. The Sample is Non-Probabilistic and Representative, intentional or for convenience. The AUDIT and Self-esteem Test, processed through the SPSS-23, was used. To evaluate the association between variables, the chi-square test was used. It was shown that there is an inverse association between self-esteem and alcohol consumption in adolescents from 13 to 17 years of secondary school; Therefore, the higher the self-esteem, the lower the possibility of alcohol consumption (40.3%) and the lower the self-esteem, the greater the possibility of physical-psychic problems with drinking and probably alcohol dependence with 2.6%; likewise, 6.6% presented low self-esteem considered drinkers at risk. Likewise, the majority of adolescents do not present problems with alcohol consumption (79.1%), 15.8% are drinkers at risk and 5.1% present physical-psychic problems with drinking and probably alcohol dependence. Most have high self-esteem (46.4%), 30.1% medium self-esteem and 23.5% low self-esteem.
