Estrategias en la prevención y manejo del síndrome post cuidados intensivos

Abstract

La prevención y manejo del síndrome post cuidados intensivos representa un problema de salud pública ya que provoca una discapacidad neuropsicológica y funcional, actualmente se maneja en forma fragmentada y no coordinada al salir de UCI. Estas medidas se basan en aplicar protocolos de manejo en la atención del paciente delicado, identificando principales secuelas y consecuencias de la sedación prolongada, analgesia involuntaria, conexión de dispositivos e inmovilización. Los sobrevivientes de la UCI, el 60% de los pacientes desarrollaron uno o más problemas de PICS, la mayoría presenta problemas en el deterioro cognitivo, depresión y la discapacidad física. Objetivo: Describir las estrategias en la prevención y manejo del PICS según revisión bibliográfica. Metodología: Estudio de revisión bibliográfica cuantitativa, descriptiva, documental, de tipo retrospectivo, que recopila artículos de los últimos 6 años en las siguientes bases de datos: PUBMED, SCIELO, Google académico y COCHRANE. Resultados: Existe mayor número de artículos publicados en PUBMED, el idioma de preferencia fue el inglés, España es el país donde se encontró más estudios y el año 2022 fue el periodo con mayor número de publicaciones; la estrategia para la prevención del PICS, es la implementación del paquete de medidas ABCDEFGH y para el manejo del PICS, son los Centros De Recuperación y Seguimiento Post UCI. Conclusión: Las estrategias para la prevención y manejo del PICS son el paquete de medidas ABCDEFGH y la implementación de los Centros De Recuperación y Seguimiento Post UCI.
