Cuidados preventivos y riesgo de Lesiones por Presión en pacientes de Cuidados Intensivos de un hospital de Lima, 2026

Abstract

En la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI), las Lesiones por Presión (LPP) siguen siendo un desafío titánico que impacta directamente en la seguridad del paciente yen los días de estancia hospitalaria. Objetivo: determinar la relación entre los cuidados preventivos y el riesgo de lesiones por presión en pacientes de cuidados intensivos de un hospital de Lima, 2026. Materiales y métodos: el estudio será de tipo cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, de alcance descriptivo, correlacional y de corte transversal. La población se constituirá por 80 pacientes y 35 profesionales de enfermería de la UCI. Los instrumentos de recolección de datos serán el cuestionario de cuidados preventivos y la escala de Braden. Además, se registrarán características clínicas y sociodemográficas de los hospitalizados a través del análisis documental. Se aplicará estadística descriptiva e inferencial, exactamente la prueba Rho de Spearman para determinar la relación entre ambas variables. La investigación permitirá generar conocimiento actual y útil para robustecer las intervenciones de prevención, mejorar la calidad del cuidado y favorecer la seguridad del paciente de UCI.

In the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Pressure Injuries (PII) remain a titanic challenge that directly impacts patient safety and length of hospital stay. Objective: to determine the relationship between preventive care and the risk of pressure injuries in intensive care patients at a hospital in Lima, 2026. Materials and methods: this quantitative, non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional study will consist of 80 patients and 35 nursing professionals from the ICU. Data collection instruments will include the Preventive Care Questionnaire and the Braden Scale. Clinical and sociodemographic characteristics of the hospitalized patients will also be recorded through document analysis. The information will be processed using SPSS version 26 and Excel. Descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically Spearman's Rhotest, will be applied to determine the relationship between the two variables. This research will generate current and useful knowledge to strengthen preventive interventions, improve the quality of care, and promote patient safety in the ICU.
