Evaluación in vitro de la variabilidad del diámetro en D0 y D3 de los conos de gutapercha de primera y segunda serie de tres diferentes marcas comerciales

Abstract

La presente investigación evaluó “in vitro” la variabilidad en el diámetro de las tres marcas de conos de gutapercha, VDW®, MAILLEFER® y ENDOMEDIC®. Se utilizaron 60 conos de gutapercha de primera y segunda serie de cada marca comercial, dando un total de 180 conos. Se observó cada cono de gutapercha en el primer y tercer milímetro (D0 y D3) por medio de un esteromicroscopio con un aumento de 25X. Al evaluar la variabilidad en el diámetro de las tres diferentes marcas de conos de gutapercha en D0 y D3 encontramos que entre las marcas comerciales de MAILLEFER® y VDW® en D3 existe diferencia estadísticamente significativa con un (p=0.002), entres las marcas MAILLEFER® y ENDOMEDIC® en D0 y D3 existe diferencia estadísticamente significativa con un (p=0.028) y (p=0.007) respectivamente y finalmente entre las marcas VDW® y ENDOMEDIC® en D0 y D3 existe diferencia estadísticamente significativa con un (p=0.028) y (p=0.007). Existe variabilidad en el diámetro entre los grupos de gutapercha incluso perteneciendo al mismo fabricante, las tres marcas evaluadas presentaron variabilidad en el diámetro, pero se mantienen dentro de los parámetros establecidos por la norma de estandarización ISO 6877:2006.

The present study evaluated “in vitro” the variability in the diameter of three cone of gutta-percha. VDW®, MAILLEFER® and ENDOMEDIC®. 60 cones of gutta- percha of first and second series of each trademark were used, giving a total 180 cones. Each cone of gutta-percha was observed in the first and third millimeter (D0 and D3) by means of a stereomicroscope with a magnification of 25X. In assessing the variability in the diameter of the three different brands of gutta-percha in D0 and D3 we found that among the trademarks of MAILLEFER® and VDW® in D3 there was a statistically significant difference (p=0.002) between the trademarks MAILLEFER® and ENDOMEDIC® in D0 and D3 there was a statistically significance difference (p=0.028) and (p=0.007), respectively and finally between the VDW® and ENDOMEDIC® in D0 and D3 there was a statistically significance difference (p=0.028) and (p=0.007) respectively. There was variability in the diameter between groups of gutta-percha eve belonging to the same manufacturer, the three brands tested variability presented in diameter, but remain within the parameters established by the standard ISO 6877:2006 standardization.
