Relación en la inclinación del incisivo inferior en registro tomográficos de pacientes con relación esquelética de clase III con diferente patrón facial vertical

Abstract

Introducción: Los pacientes Clase III se presenta con una mandíbula más adelantada con relación al maxilar, definiendo así la Clase III como un avance desproporcionado de la mandíbula o un crecimiento deficiente de la maxila. Objetivos: Estimar la relación en la inclinación del incisivo inferior en pacientes con relación esquelética de clase III con diferente patrón facial vertical. Materiales y Método: La población está conformada por registros tomográficos de pacientes de la base de datos del Servicio de Ortodoncia y Ortopedia Maxilar de la clínica Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Este estudio se realizará sobre registros tomográficos de pacientes adultos, quienes se clasificarán en grupos normodivergente, hipodivergente e hiperdivergente. Se medirán la inclinación del incisivo inferior, el grado de discrepancia del plano mandibular con respecto a la base craneal anterior para obtener el patrón facial vertical y la Relación Esquelética. Conclusiones: Nuestro estudio de llevarse a cabo mostraría la importancia de cómo la inclinación del incisivo inferior en diferentes patrones verticales afecta en el tratamiento compensatorio de ortodoncia.

Introduction: Class III patients present with a more advanced mandible in relation to the maxilla, thus defining Class III as a disproportionate advancement of the mandible or a deficient growth of the maxilla. Objectives: To assess the relationship in the inclination of the lower incisor in patients with a class III skeletal relationship with a different vertical facial pattern. Materials and Method: The population is made up of tomographic records of patients from the database of the Orthodontics and Maxillary Orthopedics Service of the Teaching Dental Clinic of the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia. This study will be carried out on tomographic records of adult patients, who will be classified into normodivergent, hypodivergent and hyperdivergent groups. The inclination of the lower incisor, the degree of divergence of the mandibular plane with respect to the anterior cranial base will be measured to obtain the vertical facial pattern and the Skeletal Relationship. Conclusions: Our study if carried out would show the importance of how the inclination of the lower incisor in different vertical patterns affects compensatory orthodontic treatment.
