Hallazgos clínicos más frecuentes en pacientes diagnosticados con síndrome de combinación atendidos en el Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia durante el año 2025

Abstract

El síndrome de combinación es una condición asociada a alteraciones del sistema estomatognático en consecuencia a la pérdida de piezas dentarias y rehabilitación protésica con alteraciones oclusales. Por ello, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo determinar la frecuencia de pacientes diagnosticados con síndrome de combinación atendidos en el Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia durante el año 2025. Se realizará un estudio descriptivo, transversal, retrospectivo y observacional. Se revisarán 382 historias clínicas digitales de pacientes atendidos e identificar cuantas presentan diagnóstico de síndrome de combinación o signos compatibles. Se registrarán y analizarán las principales características clínicas asociadas a esta condición tales como pérdida ósea anterior maxilar, hiperplasia de tejidos blandos, extrusión de dientes antagonistas, cambios en el plano oclusal y alteraciones protésicas. El estudio busca determinar las características clínicas más frecuentes del síndrome de combinación y aportar información que contribuya al diagnóstico oportuno, y contribuir a la planificación de tratamientos de rehabilitación oral adecuados.

Combination syndrome is a condition associated with alterations of the stomatognathic system as a consequence of tooth loss and the use of prosthetic rehabilitation with occlusal imbalances. Therefore, the present study aims to determine the frequency of patients diagnosed with combination syndrome who were treated at the Dental Teaching Center of Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia during 2025. A descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective, and observational study will be conducted. A total of 382 digital clinical records of patients treated at the Teaching Dental Center of Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia during 2025 will be reviewed, including those with a diagnosis of combination syndrome or clinical characteristics compatible with this condition. The main associated clinical characteristics will be recorded and analyzed, such as anterior maxillary bone loss, soft tissue hyperplasia, extrusion of antagonistic teeth, changes in the occlusal plane, and prosthetic alterations. The study seeks to identify the most frequent clinical characteristics of combination syndrome and to provide information that may contribute to timely diagnosis, and adequate treatments planning in oral rehabilitation.
