Conocimientos de los pacientes con fibrilación auricular o portadores de válvulas protésicas mecánicas sobre el tratamiento con warfarina en el Instituto Nacional Cardiovascular “Carlos Alberto Peschiera Carrillo” (INCOR) - 2021

Abstract

Antecedentes: En cardiología, el tratamiento anticoagulante oral es uno de los pilares fundamentales para la prevención de los ictus isquémicos, usado frecuentemente en pacientes con fibrilación auricular o en portadores de prótesis valvulares cardíacas. En el Perú, el anticoagulante oral más utilizado es la warfarina. Los pacientes tratados con este medicamento, para tener una anticoagulación óptima, necesitan conocer bien su tratamiento, además de sus controles periódicos. Objetivo: Determinar los conocimientos de los pacientes con fibrilación auricular o portadores de válvulas protésicas mecánicas sobre el tratamiento con warfarina en el “Instituto Nacional Cardiovascular Carlos Alberto Peschiera Carrillo” (INCOR), 2021. Material y método: El estudio tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño descriptivo, observacional y de corte transversal, se empleará un cuestionario que consta de datos sociodemográficos, datos generales sobre su enfermedad y se incluyó el test OAK (Oral Anticoagultation Knowledg). Población: Estará conformada por los pacientes con diagnóstico médico de fibrilación auricular o portadores de válvulas protésicas mecánicas tratados con warfarina, que acudan a la consulta ambulatoria por hematología durante los meses de octubre a diciembre de 2021. Muestra: El muestreo es no probabilístico consecutivo por conveniencia, se trabajará con toda la población establecida. Se procesará la información haciendo uso del software estadístico IBM® SPSS Statistics versión 26. Los resultados se agruparán de acuerdo a las tres dimensiones: formas de uso, interacciones y complicaciones y control del INR. Se elaborarán tablas de distribución y frecuencias, utilizando distribuciones de frecuencias y porcentajes, medias de tendencia central y dispersión, para finalmente describir los hallazgos.

Background: In cardiology, oral anticoagulant therapy is one of the fundamental pillars for the prevention of ischemic strokes, frequently used in patients with atrial fibrillation or in cardiac valve prosthesis carriers. In Peru, the most widely used oral anticoagulant is warfarin. Patients treated with this drug, in order to have optimal anticoagulation, need to know their treatment well, in addition to their periodic controls. Objective: To determine the knowledge of patients with atrial fibrillation or carriers of mechanical prosthetic valves about warfarin treatment at the “National Cardiovascular Institute Carlos Alberto Peschiera Carrillo” (INCOR), 2021. Material and method: The study has a quantitative approach, descriptive, observational and cross-sectional design, a questionnaire consisting of sociodemographic data, general data about their disease and included the OAK (Oral Anticoagultation Knowledg) test will be used. Population: It will consist of patients with a medical diagnosis of atrial fibrillation or carriers of mechanical prosthetic valves treated with warfarin, attending the outpatient clinic for hematology during the months of July to September 2021. Sample: The sample is nonprobabilistic consecutive sampling by convenience, we will work with the entire population established. The information will be processed using the statistical software IBM® SPSS Statistics version 26. The results will be grouped according to the three dimensions: forms of use, interactions and complications and INR control. Distribution and frequency tables will be elaborated, using frequency distributions and percentages, means of central tendency and dispersion, to finally describe the findings.
