Evidencia científica sobre la capacidad residual de los antisépticos utilizados en el quirófano previo a la cirugía: un enfoque de enfermería

Abstract

La enfermera de centro quirúrgico trabaja en mutua colaboración con el equipo médico en la preparación del campo operatorio y es responsable de asegurar los insumos necesarios durante la operación; también se ocupa del cuidado y la seguridad de los pacientes en las fases preoperatoria, intraoperatoria y postoperatoria. Objetivo: Describir la evidencia científica sobre la capacidad residual de los antisépticos utilizados en el quirófano previo a la cirugía. Metodología: revisión documental descriptiva que se ha realizado con literatura de los últimos 5 años. Al inicio de la búsqueda se encontraron un total de 45 artículos, luego se aplicaron los criterios de elegibilidad y solo se analizarán 30 artículos. Resultados: Según el país de origen, el mayor porcentaje (16,66%) fueron publicados en EE. UU. Por otro lado, el 76,66% han sido publicados en el idioma inglés y el 23.33% han sido publicados en el idioma español. Conclusiones: la antisepsia con clorhexidina al 2% redujo significativamente las infecciones en las cirugías, la colonización de las bacterias y la duración de la estancia hospitalaria en cirugías electivas y limpias y contaminadas en comparación a la povidona yodada al 10 % que usa como antiséptico convencional de la piel.
