Perfil hematológico y condición de salud de las especies paiche (Arapaima gigas), paco (Piaractus brachypomus) y gamitana (Colossoma macropomum) cultivadas en la región Ucayali-Perú, 2023

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar las características del perfil hematológico y el estado de condición de salud de las especies paiche (Arapaima gigas), paco (Piaractus brachypomus) y gamitana (Colossoma macropomum) cultivadas en la región Ucayali-Perú. La investigación se realizó en peces de etapa juvenil provenientes de dos sistemas de producción semi-intensiva con estado de salud aparentemente sanos, se colectaron un total de 90 muestras sanguíneas, 30 de cada especie, además de la toma de datos biométricos. El análisis hematológico consistió en la medición del hematocrito con el método de Microhematocrito, el recuentro leucocitario y eritrocitario con la cámara de Neubauer, la hemoglobina con el método de Cianometohemoglobina, el diferencial leucocitario mediante frotis con tinción de Wright, los índices hematimétricos y el factor de condición de salud mediante cálculos matemáticos. Los resultados obtenidos en la presente investigación sirven como referencia para posteriores trabajos debido que el perfil hematológico es de suma importancia para conocer el estado de salud, fisiológico e inmunológico de los peces. En cuanto al estado de salud o factor de condición de Fulton (K) que relaciona el peso con la longitud total de los peces, se obtuvieron como resultados las siguientes: para Arapaima gigas fue de 0,85; Piaractus brachypomus 1,64 y Colossoma macropomum 1,62 indicando que los peces se encuentran en un buen estado de salud, a excepción del Arapaima gigas.

The objective of this study was to determine the characteristics of the hematological profile and health status of paiche (Arapaima gigas), paco (Piaractus brachypomus) and gamitana (Colossoma macropomum) species farmed in the Ucayali-Peru region. The research was carried out on juvenile fish from two semi-intensive production systems with apparently healthy health status. A total of 90 blood samples were collected, 30 from each species, in addition to the collection of biometric data. The hematological analysis consisted of the measurement of hematocrit with the Microhematocrit method, leukocyte and erythrocyte count with the Neubauer chamber, hemoglobin with the Cyanomethemoglobin method, leukocyte differential by smear with Wright stain, hematometric indexes and the health condition factor by mathematical calculations. The results obtained in the present investigation serve as a reference for future works because the hematological profile is of utmost importance to know the health, physiological and immunological status of the fish. Regarding Fulton's health status or condition factor (K), which relates the weight with the total length of the fish, the following results were obtained: for Arapaima gigas it was 0.85; Piaractus brachypomus 1.64 and Colossoma macropomum 1.62, indicating that the fish are in a good state of health, with the exception of Arapaima gigas.
