Importancia de la visita prequirúrgica en la aplicación de la aromaterapia como medida para el control de la ansiedad preoperatoria

Abstract

Existen muchos factores relacionados con una cirugía que pueden causar ansiedad e influir negativamente en el afrontamiento del paciente en la etapa pre quirúrgica, por lo que es importante el rol del profesional de enfermería para llevar a cabo intervenciones que brinden cuidados diferentes a la administración de fármacos que puedan causar complicaciones como somnolencia, depresión respiratoria y efectos secundarios perjudiciales. Objetivo: Describir la importancia de la visita pre quirúrgica en la aplicación de la aromaterapia como medida para el control de la ansiedad preoperatoria y el momento más apropiado para ser llevado a cabo. Metodología: Revisión bibliográfica de literatura científica, cuantitativa, tipo retrospectivo. Resultados: La búsqueda bibliográfica localizó 36 artículos, tras la revisión se seleccionaron en el estudio un total de 25 trabajos científicos del 2019 a 2023, de la base de datos como: Pubmed, Redalyc, Scielo y Google académico. Conclusiones: Existe evidencia bibliográfica sobre la importancia de la visita pre quirúrgica en la aplicación de la aromaterapia como medida para el control de la ansiedad en el preoperatorio demostrando un impacto positivo como posible sustituto a la administración farmacológica por su fácil y rápida aplicación, y ser un medio distractor.

There are many factors related to surgery that can cause anxiety and negatively influence the patient's coping in the pre-surgical stage, so the role of the nursing professional is important to carry out interventions that provide care other than the administration of drugs that can cause complications such as drowsiness, respiratory depression and harmful side effects. Objective: To describe the importance of the pre-surgical visit in the application of aromatherapy as a measure for the control of preoperative anxiety and the most appropriate time to carry it out. Methodology: Bibliographic review of scientific literature, quantitative, retrospective. Results: The bibliographic search located 36 articles, after the review, a total of 25 scientific works from 2019 to 2023 were selected in the study, from the database such as: Pubmed, Redalyc, Scielo and Google Scholar. Conclusions: There is bibliographic evidence on the importance of the pre-surgical visit in the application of aromatherapy as a measure for the control of anxiety in the preoperative period, demonstrating a positive impact as a possible substitute for pharmacological administration due to its easy and quick application, and being a distracting means.
