Evaluación de la producción de tratamientos dentales en el Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima-Perú, 2014-2018

Abstract

Antecedentes: Para que una institución prestadora de servicios de salud tenga una administración de sus servicios eficiente y oportuna, debe analizar y evaluar la cobertura de atención odontológica en un determinado periodo de tiempo. Objetivo: Evaluar la producción de tratamientos dentales en el Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima-Perú, 2014-2018. Materiales y métodos: Estudio transversal, retrospectivo, descriptivo. Las variables de estudio fueron: Costo de tratamiento dental (variable dependiente) y año de atención (variable independiente). Se realizó un análisis descriptivo, bivariado y comparativo. Resultados: Entre los años 2014 al 2018, hubo más frecuencia de atenciones 96422 (29.04%) el año 2017, siendo siempre más frecuente el tratamiento preventivo, evidenciándose mayor número de atenciones el año 2015 con 19841 (36.48%). El costo promedio por tratamiento fue de s/. 69.26, además el tratamiento de mayor costo fue el rehabilitador con costo promedio de s/. 261.88 y de menor costo el tratamiento preventivo con costo promedio s/. 40.56. Conclusión: Se realizó mayor frecuencia de tratamientos dentales en la sede clínica dental San Martín de Porres, principalmente el tratamiento de tipo preventivo; a pesar del significativo mayor número de alumnos de pregrado, estos fueron realizados mayormente por parte de los alumnos de posgrado, el año de atención 2017, con un costo promedio de tratamiento dental de s/.69.26 soles.

Background: For a health care provider institution to have efficient and timely administration of its services, it must analyze and evaluate dental care coverage over a certain period of time. Objective: Evaluate the production of dental treatments at the Teaching Dental Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima-Peru, 2014 - 2018. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional, retrospective, descriptive study. The study variables were: Cost of dental treatment (dependent variable) and year of attention (independent variable). A descriptive, bivariate and comparative analysis was performed. Results: Between 2014 and 2018, there was more frequency of care 96422 (29.04%) 2017, and preventive treatment is always more frequent, with a greater number of cares received in 2015 with 19841 (36.48%). The average cost per treatment was s/. 69.26, in addition, the most cost treatment was the rehabilitator with average cost of s/. 261.88 and lower cost preventive treatment with average cost s/. 40.56. Conclusion: In the San Martín de Porres dental clinic, a higher frequency of dental treatments was performed, mainly preventive treatments; despite the significantly higher number of undergraduate students, these were mostly carried out by graduate students, in the year of attention 2017, with an average cost of dental treatment of s/ .69.26 soles.
