| spa |
| dc.description.abstract | Objective: To estimate the survival and safety of combined bevacizumab plus adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer treated at the PNP National Hospital “L.N.S” between 2019 and 2023. Methods: Observational, retrospective single-cohort study including 148 patients. Progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were estimated using the Kaplan–Meier method and compared by age, body mass index, histologic subtype and FIGO stage using the Log-Rank test and Cox models. Safety was assessed based on the frequency and severity of adverse events. Results: Median PFS was 24 months, with progression in 97.3% of patients. Median OS was not reached, as more than 50% remained alive at three years. No significant differences in OS were observed by age (p=0.160), body mass index (p=0.754) or histologic subtype (p=0.387). FIGO stage showed a significant association (p<0.001), with higher mortality risk in stages IIIA2, IIIB, IIIC, and IVA. Regarding safety, most adverse events were mild; neutropenia was the most frequent side effect, and severe bevacizumab-related toxicities were uncommon. Conclusion: The combined treatment achieved a median PFS of 24 months and an unreached median OS, indicating survival above 50% at three years. Only the FIGO stage was significantly associated with OS, with a worse prognosis in advanced stages. The safety profile was manageable, characterized by predominantly mild events and a low frequency of severe toxicities. | eng |
