Factores asociados a reacciones adversas transfusionales inmediatas en pacientes oncológicos hospitalizados en el Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas IREN Norte, 2023

Abstract

Introducción: La terapia transfusional sanguínea es muy importante en el manejo de pacientes con cáncer. No obstante, los pacientes con cáncer son más susceptibles al desarrollo de reacciones adversas dada su comorbilidad. La detección de factores asociados a reacciones adversas transfusionales permitirá tener una herramienta para prevenir su aparición con la finalidad de reducir la mortalidad, morbilidad y estancia hospitalaria, y así reducir costos adicionales. Objetivo: Describir los factores asociados a reacciones adversas transfusionales inmediatas en pacientes oncológicos hospitalizados en el Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas IREN Norte durante el año 2023. Materiales y método: El presente estudio será no experimental, analítico, transversal, fundamentado en el análisis secundario de datos rutinariamente recolectados por el personal de salud del IREN. Todos los registros de pacientes oncológicos mayores de edad que se encuentran hospitalizados, y que reciban transfusión de algún hemocomponente entre enero a diciembre del 2023 serán analizados. Mediante una ficha de recolección de datos se registrada diversas características de los pacientes, así como el número de unidades transfundidas, tipo de reacción adversa, hemoglobina pre-transfusional, tipo de hemocomponente, lugar de transfusión, historias de transfusiones previas e historia previa de reacciones adversas transfusionales. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizará el software Stata v.17, y la asociación será evaluada mediante diversas pruebas de hipótesis y modelos de regresión. Resultados: Los potenciales resultados del estudio permitirán generar evidencia local, llenar un vacío del conocimiento a nivel regional, y generar información base para la futura implementación de estrategias que permitan reducir la ocurrencia de reacciones adversas.

Introduction: Blood transfusion therapy is very important in the management of cancer patients. However, cancer patients are more susceptible to the development of adverse reactions given their comorbidity. All the records of cancer patients of legal age who are hospitalized, and who receive a transfusion of a blood component between January and December 2023 will be analyzed. Through a data collection sheet, various characteristics of the patients were recorded, as well as the number of units transfused, type of adverse reaction, pre-transfusion hemoglobin, type of blood component, place of transfusion, histories of previous transfusions and previous history of reactions. adverse transfusions.
