Nivel de conocimiento sobre las infecciones de transmisión sexual y sus medidas preventivas en estudiantes de 3ro, 4to y 5to de secundaria de una institución educativa pública de Lima, 2021

Abstract

Antecedentes: las Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual son una dificultad en la salud pública a nivel mundial afectando a personas sexualmente activas durante las diferentes etapas de vida. Siendo la adolescencia la etapa más vulnerable porque se caracteriza por el inicio temprano de la sexualidad y la adopción de comportamientos de riesgo que exponen su salud a contraer alguna ITS con complicaciones irreversibles que afecten su desarrollo. Objetivo: determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre las ITS y sus medidas preventivas de los estudiantes de 3ro, 4to y 5to de secundaria de la Institución Educativa Pública “N° 7230”, Lima, 2021. Material y método: investigación de tipo descriptivo, enfoque cuantitativo y diseño no experimental, con la participación de 174 escolares que cumplieron con los criterios de selección definidos. Se aplicó el cuestionario virtualmente mediante google forms, el cual fue validado por López Huarcaya Y. con una confiabilidad por Alfa de Cronbach de 0.885, posteriormente exportados al banco de datos en Ms Excel 2016 para su análisis estadístico con el programa STATA versión 16 en tablas de distribución de frecuencia. Resultados: se encontró que el nivel de conocimiento sobre ITS y sus medidas preventivas que predominó fue el bajo con 98.9% en escolares del 3ro, 4to y 5to de secundaria de la I.E Pública “N° 7230”, Lima- 2021. Conclusiones: los estudiantes de 3ro, 4to y 5to de secundaria presentaron un nivel de conocimiento bajo respecto a las ITS y sus medidas preventivas.

Background: Sexually Transmitted Infections are a public health problem worldwide, affecting sexually active people during different stages of life. The adolescence stage is the most vulnerable because it is characterized by the early onset of sexuality and the adoption of risky behaviors that expose their health to get infected with an STI, causing irreversible complications that affect their development. Objective: to determine the level of knowledge about STIs and their preventive measures of the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade high school students of the Public Educational Institution "N° 7230", Lima, 2021. Material and method: descriptive research, quantitative approach, and non-experimental design, with the participation of 174 students who met the defined selection criteria. The questionnaire was applied virtually through google forms, which was validated by López Huarcaya Y. with a reliability by Cronbach's Alpha of 0.885, later exported to the database in Ms Excel 2016 for statistical analysis with the STATA program version 16 in frequency distribution tables. Results: it was found that the level of knowledge about STIs and preventive measures that prevailed was low with 98.9% in students of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades of the Public I.E "N ° 7230", Lima - 2021. Conclusions: 3rd, 4th and 5th grade high school students presented a low level of knowledge regarding STIs and their preventive measures.
