Estilos de crianza y ciberacoso en adolescentes de un colegio de Lima Metropolitana

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal determinar la relación entre los estilos de crianza y el ciberacoso en estudiantes de 12 a 16 años de un colegio de Lima Metropolitana. Para ello, se empleó una muestra compuesta por 285 adolescentes de una institución educativa pública. Se administró el Cuestionario del Proyecto Europeo de Intervención del Ciberacoso (ECIPQ) y el Inventario de Estilos de Crianza de Steinberg. Los resultados mostraron una correlación negativa, débil y significativa entre los estilos de crianza y el ciberacoso (p<0.01, rho= -.403). Al comparar las dimensiones de ambas variables, se observó una correlación negativa, moderada y significativa entre el compromiso y las dimensiones del ciberacoso, así como una correlación negativa, débil y significativa entre la autonomía psicológica y las dimensiones del ciberacoso. No obstante, se encontró una correlación negativa, de fuerza nula y no significativa, entre control conductual y cibervictimizacion (p>0.01, rho= -.077). Finalmente, al comparar las variables según el sexo, no se evidenciaron diferencias significativas entre las dimensiones del ciberacoso; sin embargo, sí se identificaron diferencias en las dimensiones de los estilos de crianza. Los resultados obtenidos contribuyen al sustento teórico de futuros programas preventivos centrados en psicoeducar a padres e hijos sobre la importancia de la comunicación y convivencia familiar, así como sobre la problemática del ciberacoso.

The main objective of this research is to determine the relationship between parenting styles and cyberbullying in students aged 12 to 16 years from a school in Metropolitan Lima. To do so, a sample of 285 adolescents from a public educational institution was used. The European Cyberbullying Intervention Project Questionnaire (ECIPQ) and the Steinberg Parenting Styles Inventory were administered. The results showed a negative, weak and significant correlation between parenting styles and cyberbullying (p<0.01, rho= -.403). When comparing the dimensions of both variables, a negative, moderate and significant correlation was observed between commitment and the dimensions of cyberbullying, as well as a negative, weak and significant correlation between psychological autonomy and the dimensions of cyberbullying. However, a negative correlation of null and non-significant strength was found between behavioral control and cybervictimization (p>0.01, rho= -.077). Finally, when comparing the variables according to sex, no significant differences were found between the dimensions of cyberbullying; however, differences were identified in the dimensions of parenting styles. The results obtained contribute to the theoretical support of future preventive programs focused on psychoeducating parents and children about the importance of communication and family coexistence, as well as about the problem of cyberbullying.
