dc.description.abstract	Objetivo: Establecer la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y práctica del cuidado de la madre en el hogar sobre la Infección Respiratoria Aguda (IRA) en el niño menor de 5 años en el Centro de Salud Materno Infantil “Condevilla Señor”- San Martín de Porres de Lima Metropolitana-Perú. Materiales y métodos: tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo, correlacional, de corte transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 99 madres de niños menores de cinco años que presentan una IRA y son llevados al servicio de medicina en los meses de noviembre-enero del 2020. La técnica empleada fue la encuesta y los instrumentos fueron dos cuestionarios diferentes para evaluar el nivel de conocimientos y prácticas maternas. Ambos cuestionarios fueron validados por las autoras y abordaron 7 dimensiones basadas en lo planteado por la Organización Panamericana de la Salud para el manejo del niño con IRA en el hogar; El plan de análisis se realizó a través del programa STATA versión 16.0 y la relación se obtuvo con el coeficiente de Rho de Spearman (Rho). Resultados: Se evidenció una correlación directa entre las variables conocimiento y prácticas de cuidado materno en el hogar del niño menor de 5 años con IRA (Rho= 0.437). Prevaleció el nivel de conocimientos medio y prácticas adecuadas. Conclusión: Existe correlación estadísticamente significativa entre las variables de conocimiento y práctica del cuidado materno en el hogar del niño menor de 5 años con infección respiratoria aguda del C. S. “Condevilla Señor”- San Martin de Porres.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Objective: To determinate the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice of maternal home care on Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) in children under 5 years of age at the Maternal and Child Health Center "Condevilla Señor" - San Martín de Porres in Metropolitan Lima-Peru. Materials and methods: quantitative, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 99 mothers of children under five years of age who presented ARI and were taken to the medical service in the months of November-January 2020. The technique used was the survey and the instruments were two different questionnaires to assess the level of maternal knowledge and practices. Both questionnaires were validated by the authors and addressed 7 dimensions based on the Pan American Health Organization's guidelines for the management of children with ARI at home; the analysis plan was carried out using the STATA program version 16.0 and the relationship was obtained with Spearman's Rho coefficient (Rho). Results: There was a direct correlation between the variables knowledge and maternal care practices in the home of children under 5 years of age with ARI (Rho= 0.437). The medium level of knowledge and adequate practices prevailed. Conclusion: There is a statistically significant correlation between the variables of knowledge and practice of maternal care at home for children under 5 years of age with acute respiratory infection at C. S. "Condevilla Señor" - San Martin de Porres.	es_ES
