La presente investigación abordó la temática del ambiente del aula. Teniendo en cuenta lo propuesto por Iglesias (2008), esta posee dimensiones como los espacios, los materiales, las relaciones que se forman entre los niños, docentes y el entorno, con los cuales se pueden describir sus características. En ese sentido, este estudio se planteó determinar cuáles eran las características del ambiente del aula implementadas con mayor frecuencia por las docentes en instituciones públicas de San Martín de Porres, para lo cual se eligió como población 3 colegios de nivel inicial, de donde se eligieron como muestra 13 aulas de II ciclo, o sea de 3, 4 y 5 años. Debido a la naturaleza del estudio, el enfoque ha sido cuantitativo y el tipo de investigación descriptiva básica, por lo cual la recolección de información se realizó a través de una rúbrica de observación como instrumento, en donde se dio énfasis a las dimensiones que involucran a los espacios, materiales y las relaciones. Los datos recogidos se analizaron por medio de herramientas de estadística descriptiva. Luego, los resultados obtenidos revelaron que, en general el ambiente del aula del 69% de las instituciones educativas observadas es considerado adecuado, y que el 31% de las mismas requiere mejorar. En cuanto a las dimensiones del ambiente, la que tuvo mayor predominancia fue la relacional con el 77% de ítems considerados como adecuados. Se concluye que las características del ambiente del aula implementadas con mayor frecuencia por las docentes es la dimensión temporal.This research addressed the issue of the classroom environment. Taking into account what Iglesias (2008) proposed, this has dimensions such as spaces, materials, relationships formed between children, teachers and the environment, with which its characteristics can be described. In this sense, this study set out to determine what were the characteristics of the classroom environment most frequently implemented by teachers in public institutions in San Martin de Porres, for which 3 preschools were chosen as population, from which 13 classrooms of II cycle, that is, 3, 4 and 5 years old, were selected as a sample. Due to the nature of the study, the approach has been quantitative and the type of basic descriptive research, for which the collection of information was carried out through an observation rubric as an instrument, where emphasis was given to the dimensions involving spaces, materials and relationships. The data collected were analyzed by means of descriptive statistical tools. Then, the results obtained revealed that, in general, the classroom environment of 69% of the educational institutions observed is considered adequate, and that 31% of them require improvement. As for the dimensions of the environment, the most predominant was the relational dimension, with 77% of items considered adequate. It is concluded that the characteristics of the classroom environment implemented most frequently by teachers is the time dimension.
