dc.description.abstract	Introducción. - En el Perú, las mujeres empiezan a ser madres antes de los 18 años, según el reporte del 2018 se registra adolescentes entre 15 a 19 años que están embarazadas o son madres por primera vez en un promedio de 12.6 %. Según Mercer refiere que la maternidad es un proceso de desarrollo interactivo que la mujer va adquiriendo a través de experiencias a través del vínculo que entabla madre- hijo. Objetivo. Determinar la efectividad de una intervención educativa en el nivel de conocimiento sobre el rol materno en madres primerizas atendidas en el Centro Materno Infantil Juan Pablo II. Material y Método. - El diseño del estudio fue de tipo pre experimental, con enfoque cuantitativo y de corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 200 madres, se utilizó la fórmula de comparación de proporciones donde se tuvo una muestra de 58 madres primerizas. La técnica utilizada fue la encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario de 17 preguntas elaborado por las investigadoras, con una confiabilidad 0.743 por Kuder Richardson Resultados-. Antes de la intervención educativa el 74.1% de madres tenían un nivel de conocimiento medio. Después de la intervención educativa, el nivel de conocimiento fue alto con un 72.4%. Se obtuvo un p= 0.000. Conclusiones-. La intervención educativa tuvo un efecto positivo en el aumento del nivel de conocimiento sobre el rol materno.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Introduction. - In Peru, women begin to become mothers before the age of 18. According to the 2018 report, an average of 12.6% of adolescents between the ages of 15 and 19 are pregnant or are mothers for the first time. According to Mercer, motherhood is a process of interactive development that women acquire through experiences through the mother-child bond. Objective. To determine the effectiveness of an educational intervention on the level of knowledge about the maternal role in first-time mothers attending the Juan Pablo II Maternity and Infant Centre. Material and Method. - The study design was pre-experimental, quantitative and cross-sectional. The population consisted of 200 mothers, and the proportion comparison formula was used to obtain a sample of 58 first-time mothers. The technique used was the survey and the instrument was a 17-question questionnaire developed by the researchers, with a reliability of 0.743 by Kuder Richardson Results. Before the educational intervention 74.1% of mothers had an average level of knowledge. After the educational intervention, the level of knowledge was high with 72.4%. A p= 0.000 was obtained. Conclusions. The educational intervention had a positive effect on increasing the level of maternal role knowledge.	es_ES
