dc.description.abstract | Introducción: La migraña y los trastornos del sueño son frecuentes en los estudiantes de medicina. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la calidad del sueño y la somnolencia diurna excesiva, y la migraña en estudiantes de medicina de una universidad peruana. Materiales y métodos: Se llevó a cabo un estudio descriptivo, transversal y exploratorio. Se incluyeron estudiantes de medicina de todos los años de estudios y se excluyeron los alumnos consumidores de medicamentos psicoactivos, con reciente enfermedad neurológica o neuroquirúrgica. Se emplearon los cuestionarios validados, Alcoi-95 para diagnóstico de migraña, el Índice de Calidad de Sueño de Pittsburgh, la Escala de Somnolencia Diurna de Epworth y la Escala de Discapacidad Asociada a la Migraña. Se realizaron los análisis estadísticos descriptivos. Resultados: Fueron encuestados 373 estudiantes, de los cuales fueron seleccionados 336. El 19.9% (67/336) fueron migrañosos, sin aura 11% (37/336) y con aura el 8.9% (30/336). El 24.1% (81/336) fueron malos dormidores y el 27.7% (93/336) presentaron somnolencia diurna. Se encontró que hay una asociación estadísticamente significativa entre la migraña, la somnolencia diurna excesiva y mala calidad del sueño. Conclusión: La migraña está directamente asociada con los trastornos del sueño en estudiantes de medicina. | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Migraine and sleep disorders are common diseases in medical students. Objective: Determine the relationship between sleep quality and excessive daytime sleepiness with migraine in medical students at a Peruvian university. Materials and methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional and exploratory study was carried out. Medical students from all years of study at UPCH were included, and students who consumed psychoactive medications and had recent neurological or neurosurgical illnesses were excluded. The validated questionnaires were used, Alcoi-95 for migraine diagnosis, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, the Epworth Daytime Sleepiness Scale and the Migraine Associated Disability Scale. Descriptive statistical analyzes was performed. Results: 373 students were surveyed, of which 336 were selected. 19.9% (67/336) were migraineurs, 11% (37/336) without aura and 8.9% (30/336) with aura. 24.1% (81/336) were poor sleepers and 27.7% (93/336) presented daytime sleepiness. It was found that there is a statistically significant association between migraine, excessive daytime sleepiness and poor sleep quality. Conclusion: Migraine is directly related to sleep disorders in medical students. | es_ES |
