dc.description.abstract	Introducción: La tuberculosis (TB), una enfermedad infecciosa causada por el Mycobacterium tuberculosis. En cuanto a la TB pediátrica, su manejo sigue siendo un desafío, ya que pruebas diagnósticas consideradas cómo gold standard(baciloscopia y cultivos) suelen ser falsos negativos debida a su naturaleza paucibacilar. En el Perú debido a la escasez de recursos es imperativo el desarrollo de diferentes métodos diagnósticos que permitan detectar la infección y poder darle tratamiento oportuno para evitar complicaciones que afecten su desarrollo e incluso la muerte. Objetivos: Evaluar el rendimiento diagnóstico de los Criterios de Stegen modificado por Toledo, en pacientes pediátricos. Materiales y Métodos: Se realizará un diseño analítico, observacional; con un estudio de pruebas diagnósticas de tipo transversal comparativo. Se revisará las historias clínicas disponibles en el hospital Cayetano Heredia durante el periodo 2019-2024; y se incluirá a todos los pacientes mayores de 6 meses de vida hasta los 15 años con diagnóstico de tuberculosis activa y recibieron el tratamiento completo, pacientes pediátricos con tuberculosis latente y aquellos que fueron catalogados como contactos y recibieron profilaxis. Conclusiones: A través de este estudio, consideramos que el uso de una escala objetiva podría mejorar el rendimiento diagnóstico y reducir los retrasos en el inicio del tratamiento.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB), an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The management of pediatric TB remains a challenge, since diagnostic tests considered as gold standard (smear microscopy and cultures) are usually false negatives due to its paucibacillary nature. In Peru, due to the scarcity of resources, it is imperative to develop different diagnostic methods to detect the infection and provide timely treatment to avoid complications affecting its development and even death. Objectives: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of the Stegen Criteria modified by Toledo in pediatric patients. Materials and Methods: An analytical, observational design will be carried out; with a comparative cross-sectional study of diagnostic tests. The medical records available at Cayetano Heredia hospital during the period 2019-2024 will be reviewed; and will include all patients older than 6 months of life up to 15 years of age with a diagnosis of active tuberculosis and received full treatment, pediatric patients with latent tuberculosis and those who were categorized as contacts and received prophylaxis. Conclusions: Through this study, we believe that the use of an objective scale could improve diagnostic yield and reduce delays in treatment initiation.	es_ES
