dc.description.abstract | One of the most important tools for the diagnostic laboratory for the approximation of ehrlichiosis is the count blood cells (CBC); because various quantitative alterations in this test have been linked to the disease. There has been an increase in the frequency of detection of Ehrlichia spp. a veterinary diagnostic laboratory in the northern area of Lima, by assessing the blood smear. Currently, there is not with hematological studies describing features associated with the finding of Ehrlichia spp. in the blood smear in our region. Therefore, the objective of this study was to characterize the hematological findings, quantitative and qualitative, in patients with presence of morulae in the blood smear. A review of all orders that were requested hematology between February 2013 and February 2014; was selecting those blood counts with the presence of Ehrlichia spp. These data were tabulated in an Excel table, describing the quantitative numerical values and qualitative values on a scale of crosses. It was determined that the presence of the blood smear morulae in dogs was higher in males 57% (94 of 165), half-breed 58.2% (96 of 165) and 44.9% (74 of 165) aged 1 to 7 years. The main quantitative blood disorders found were moderate anemia 38.2% (63 of 165), mild leukopenia 25.4% (42 of 165) and 37.6% severe thrombocytopenia (62 of 165). Regarding quantitative hematological changes in leukocyte lineage, neutropenia was found in 30.3% (50 of 165), lymphopenia 43% (71 of 165) and monocytosis 70.3% (116 of 165). The presence of vacuolated monocytes 60.3% (104 of 165) was the main qualitative blood disorder in this study and there is no precedent. | es_ES |
