dc.description.abstract	We have read with interest the article by Vodicka et al1 scoping potential interest and acceptability of a pharmacy-based hypertension management program with a focus on individual’s readiness-to-pay for hypertension services and health membership plans. Today’s burden of hypertension, both globally and in low- and middle-income countries, paired with limitations and shortcomings of health systems call for innovative approaches to deal with this condition and other major chronic noncommunicable diseases. Therefore, the topic addressed by the authors is highly relevant for Peru, the region, and also various other low- or middle-income countries. We would like to present some arguments that we hope would contribute to the debate on improving longterm health care for chronic diseases in Peru.
