dc.description.abstract	Introducción: Una de las profesiones más expuestas al contagio del COVID-19 es la odontología. Sin embargo, la prevalencia y las tasas de positividad son bajas en los odontólogos, indicando que las instancias para el control de infecciones en la actualidad pueden ser suficientes para prevenirlas en los entornos dentales. Objetivo: Determinar el seguimiento de las medidas preventivas y conocimiento percibido por estudiantes y profesionales de odontología durante el aislamiento social obligatorio por la COVID-19 en Latinoamérica y El Caribe en el año 2020. Métodos: Estudio transversal, por medio de encuestas anónimas virtuales en una muestra por conveniencia conformada por estudiantes y profesionales de odontología de 21 países de Latinoamérica y el Caribe, siendo las variables las medidas preventivas para la COVID-19 y características sociodemográficas. Resultados: El conocimiento sobre la COVID-19 se encontró asociado con características sociodemográficas y si conoció a alguien con COVID-19 (p<0.05). La preocupación frente a la COVID-19 se asoció con sexo, estado nutricional y conoció a alguien con COVID-19 (p<0.05). Los días de aislamiento y calificación de confinamiento se asociaron con edad, formación, especialidad y si conoció a alguien con COVID-19 (p<0.05). El seguimiento de recomendaciones para prevenir la COVID-19, como el uso de tapabocas, lavado de manos y distanciamiento, se asoció con edad, formación, especialidad, lugar de origen y si conoció a alguien con COVID-19 (p<0.05). Conclusión: Se concluye que tanto los estudiantes y odontólogos en Latinoamérica y el Caribe siguen las medidas preventivas para la COVID-19 durante el aislamiento social obligatorio en el año 2020.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Introduction: One of the professions most exposed to the contagion of COVID-19 is dentistry. However, the prevalence and positivity rates are low in dentists, indicating that current infection control instances may be sufficient to prevent infection in dental settings. Objective: To determine the monitoring of preventive measures and knowledge perceived by dental students and professionals during the mandatory social isolation due to COVID-19 in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2020. Methods: Cross-sectional study, through virtual anonymous surveys in a convenience sample made up of dental students and professionals from 21 Latin American and Caribbean countries, the variables being preventive measures for COVID-19 and sociodemographic characteristics: Results: Knowledge about COVID-19 was found associated with sociodemographic characteristics and if they knew someone with COVID-19 (p <0.05). Concern about COVID-19 was associated with sex, nutritional status, and meeting someone with COVID-19 (p <0.05). The days of isolation and confinement qualification were associated with age, training, specialty, and if they met someone with COVID-19 (p <0.05). The follow-up of recommendations to prevent COVID-19 such as the use of masks, hand washing and distancing, was associated with age, training, specialty, place of origin and if they knew someone with COVID-19 (p <0.05). Conclusion: It is concluded that both students and dentists in Latin America and the Caribbean follow preventive measures for COVID-19 during mandatory social isolation in 2020.	es_ES
