Consecuencias psicológicas en mujeres víctimas de violencia de pareja en Latinoamérica: una revisión crítica

Abstract

Actualmente existen diferentes estudios que revelan el incremento de cifras de violencia en los países Latinoamericanos, dichas cifras muestran una realidad numérica de dicha problemática; sin embargo, es importante que se puedan visibilizar aspectos cualitativos respecto a las repercusiones o consecuencias psicológicas que trae consigo una mujer víctima de violencia de pareja. En ese sentido, el presente trabajo pretende realizar una revisión literaria y crítica del estado psicológico de las mujeres víctimas de violencia de pareja en Latinoamérica; asimismo, pretende analizar las consecuencias más significativas y frecuentes, así como la sintomatología relacionada a trastornos mentales y de personalidad, y por último conocer las características sociodemográficas que presentan las víctimas.

Currently, various studies reveal the increasing incidence of violence in Latin American countries. These figures demonstrate the numerical reality of this problem. However, it is important to highlight qualitative aspects regarding the psychological repercussions or consequences experienced by women who are victims of intimate partner violence. In this regard, this paper aims to conduct a literary and critical review of the psychological state of women victims of intimate partner violence in Latin America. It also aims to analyze the most significant and frequent consequences, as well as the symptoms related to mental and personality disorders, and finally, to understand the sociodemographic characteristics of the victims.
