Uso de redes sociales en operadores de pregrado del Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima-Perú, 2020

Abstract

Antecedentes: Frente a la gran demanda de servicios de salud odontológicos, se requiere establecer una comunicación adecuada entre pacientes y futuros profesionales por redes sociales. Objetivo general: Determinar el uso de redes sociales en operadores de pregrado del Centro Dental Docente (CDD) de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), Lima - Perú, 2020. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio transversal con una muestra de 115 operadores de pregrado, las variables de estudio fueron: edad, sexo, año de estudios del operador, uso del celular, internet móvil, internet domiciliario y uso de redes sociales. Para el análisis estadístico se procedió con un análisis descriptivo y para el análisis bivariado se determinó la distribución z mediante la prueba de Kolmogórov-Smirnov, por ello se emplearon las pruebas de U de Mann Whitney y Kruskal - Wallis; el estudio presentó un nivel de confianza de 95% y un p<0.05. Resultados: El promedio de redes sociales usadas por encuestado es de 4.67 (DE=1.25). Además, el 84.35% (n=97) de ellos se comunicaban a menudo/frecuentemente con sus pacientes por redes sociales. Conclusión: Se determinó un uso frecuente de redes sociales por parte de los operadores de pregrado del Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima-Perú, 2020.

Background: Currently, faced with the great demand for dental health services, it is necessary to establish a proper communication between patients and future professionals in social media. General objective: Determine the use of social networks in undergraduate students of the Teaching Dental Center (TDC) of the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University (CHPU), Lima - Peru, 2020. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out, with a sample of 115 undergraduate students; is based on a survey with 15 qualitative questions (dichotomous and polytomous) and consisted of a self-application and multiple-choice questionnaire. The study variables were: age, sex, year of studies of the operator, use of cell phone, mobile internet, home internet and use of ICTs. For the statistical analysis, a descriptive analysis was carried out and for the bivariate analysis the z distribution was determined using the Kolmogórov-Smirnov test, for this reason the U Mann Whitney and Kruskal- Wallis tests were used; the study presented a confidence level of 95% and a p<0.05. Results: The average number of social networks used per respondent is 4.67 (SD=1.25). In addition, 84.35% (n = 97) of them communicated often / frequently with their patients through social networks. Conclusion: A frequent use of social networks was determined by the undergraduate students of the Teaching Dental Center of the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University, Lima-Peru, 2020.
