Gatekeeping materno y funcionamiento familiar en madres de preescolares de San Juan de Lurigancho

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el gatekeeping materno y funcionamiento familiar en madres de preescolares de San Juan de Lurigancho. Se empleó un diseño no experimental transversal con un nivel correlacional-comparativo, y tuvo una muestra no probabilística de 233 madres de preescolares, quienes fueron evaluadas mediante el Inventario de Regulación Parental (PRI) y la Escala de Funcionamiento Familiar (FF-SIL). Los resultados exponen que existe una relación entre el gatekeeping materno y el funcionamiento familiar en madres de preescolares, destacando asociaciones positivas del gatekeeping de aliento con las dimensiones de afectividad (rho=.389; p<.01), armonía (rho=.368; p<.01) y cohesión (rho=.318; p<.01) y una relación negativa del gatekeeping de criticismo con la dimensión de armonía (rho=-.143; p<.05). Finalmente, se destaca la importancia de comprender el gatekeeping materno como un factor relevante en la dinámica familiar y se aporta evidencia empírica que respalda la promoción de una coparentalidad responsable, orientada a favorecer un funcionamiento familiar más saludable para todos sus miembros.

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal gatekeeping and family functioning in mothers of preschool children from San Juan de Lurigancho. A non-experimental, cross-sectional design with a correlational-comparative level was used, and the study included a non-probabilistic sample of 233 mothers of preschool children, who were assessed using the Parental Regulation Inventory (PRI) and the Family Functioning Scale (FF-SIL).The results indicated a relationship between maternal gatekeeping and family functioning, highlighting positive associations between gatekeeping encouragement and the dimensions of affectivity (rho = .389; p < .01), harmony (rho = .368; p < .01), and cohesion (rho = .318; p < .01), as well as a negative relationship between gatekeeping criticism and the harmony dimension (rho = -.143; p < .05).Finally, the findings highlight the importance of understanding maternal gatekeeping as a relevant factor in family dynamics and provide empirical evidence supporting the promotion of responsible coparenting aimed at fostering healthier family functioning for all family members.
