Antecedentes: La intervención de la enfermera es imprescindible en los primeros momentos del recién nacido para la adecuada educación a la madre en el antes, durante y después del nacimiento, siendo beneficioso para lograr un correcto amamantamiento. Objetivo: Determinar el cumplimiento del personal de enfermería en la aplicación de los 10 pasos para una lactancia materna exitosa en Centros Materno Infantiles de Lima Norte. Material y Métodos: Es un estudio de tipo descriptivo, cuantitativo y corte transversal. La muestra está conformada por 30 enfermeras, con el instrumento elaborado por las investigadoras y validado mediante juicio de expertos, “Guía de observación del cumplimiento de los 10 pasos por el personal de enfermería” basado en el documento del MINSA, Directiva para la Certificación de Establecimientos de Salud Amigos de la madre, la niña y el niño, del 2016. Resultados: El promedio total es 75.28%, en capacitación 63.3%, en educación 96.7% y en protección 65.83% con respecto al cumplimiento de las enfermeras sobre los pasos de la lactancia materna exitosa. Conclusiones: Se concluye que el personal de enfermería obtuvo un impacto positivo con razón a su labor al desarrollar los 10 pasos de la lactancia materna exclusiva; teniendo a la vez un promedio general que obtuvo resultados favorables.Background: The intervention of the nurse is essential in the first moments of the newborn for the adequate education of the mother before, during and after birth, being beneficial to achieve the proper breastfeeding. Objective: Determine the compliance of the nursing staff in the application of the 10 steps for successful breastfeeding in Maternal and Child Centers of North Lima. Material and Methods: It is a descriptive, quantitative and cross-sectional study. The sample is made up of 30 nurses, with the instrument prepared by the researchers and validated through the judgment of experts, “Guide for observing compliance with the 10 steps by nursing staff” based on the MINSA document, Directive for the Certification of Health Establishments Friends of the mother, the girl and the boy, 2016. Results: The total average is 75.28%, in training 63.3%, in education 96.7% and in protection 65.83% with respect to the compliance of nurses on the steps of successful breastfeeding. Conclusions: It is concluded that the nursing staff had a positive impact on their work by developing the 10 steps of exclusive breastfeeding; at the same time having a general average that obtained favorable results.
