El objetivo del estudio fue clasificar regiones con probabilidad frente al complejo Teniasis/Cisticercosis por T. solium a través de un mapeo de las áreas de riesgo para Taenia solium validada por la Organización Panamericana de Salud. La aplicación de la metodología se inició con la recolección de antecedentes de la enfermedad y factores de riesgo para la presencia del parásito, a partir de la literatura científica, reportes y bases de datos de las instituciones de salud pública y animal, y resultados del Censo Nacional del año 2017 desarrollado por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática, a fin de corroborar la presencia de dichos factores de riesgo en cada departamento Posteriormente la información fue organizada por departamentos y sus distritos e ingresada en la base de datos requerida por el Mapping para luego ser procesada por el programa en EXCEL, donde también se consideran los antecedentes de estudios y factores de riesgos relacionados a la presencia de la enfermedad en distrito de los diferentes departamentos del Perú. Finalmente, los resultados fueron procesados automáticamente mostrando al final la clasificación de áreas de riesgo. Se obtuvo como resultados que 18 de 25 departamentos del Perú mostraron un alto nivel de riesgo de T. solium, es decir que existe una alta probabilidad de transmisión activa del parásito; por otro lado, 4 de 25 departamentos presentaron riesgo moderado lo que indicaba que podría existir una transmisión activa en esas regiones. El estudio muestra que el programa de mapeo en EXCEL puede contribuir a determinar áreas de riesgo la que puede servir para que posteriormente puedan profundizar a fin de tomar medidas de control para evitar la difusión del complejo Teniasis/Cisticercosis.The objective of the study was to classify regions with probability of the Taeniasis/Cysticercosis complex by T. solium through a mapping of risk areas for Taenia solium validated by the Pan American Health Organization. The application of the methodology began with the collection of history of the disease and risk factors for the presence of the parasite, based on the scientific literature, reports and databases of public and animal health institutions, and results of the Census. National of the year 2017 developed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics, in order to corroborate the presence of said risk factors in each department. Subsequently, the information was organized by departments and entered into the database required by the Mapping to be later processed by the program in EXCEL, where the background of studies and risk factors related to the presence of the disease in the departments are also from Peru. Finally, the results were processed automatically, showing the classification of risk areas at the end. It was obtained as result that 18 of 25 departments of Peru showed a high level of risk of T. solium, that there is a high probability of active transmission of the parasite; on the other hand, 4 of 25 departments presented moderate risk, which indicated that there could be active transmission in those regions. The study shows that the mapping program in EXCEL can help to determine risk areas, which can be used to subsequently deepen in order to take control measures to prevent the spread of the Taeniasis/Cysticercosis complex.
