Introducción: La Endocarditis Infecciosa (EI) tiene una presentación clínica variada dependiendo del agente causal, características del huésped y otros factores; por eso es necesario conocer el perfil clínico-microbiológico local. Objetivo: Describir los hallazgos clínico-microbiológicos de pacientes diagnosticados con EI en un hospital de tercer nivel en Lima en los últimos 12 años. Materiales y métodos: Series de casos de tipo retrospectivo de corte longitudinal de pacientes con EI en el HNCH de enero 2011 a mayo 2023. La data obtenida se analizó en Excel y STATA 17. Resultados: Se seleccionaron 45 pacientes, 38 ≥ 18 años y 7 <18años; se encontró una relación hombre:mujer de 3:1. La edad media fue 45,84 ± 19,26 años en los ≥ 18 años. La tasa de incidencia fue en promedio 10 casos/año. Las manifestaciones clínicas más frecuentes fueron fiebre y soplo cardiaco en 35 (92,1%) pacientes. El sitio de endocarditis más común fue sobre la válvula aórtica en 27 (60,0%). El agente aislado con mayor frecuencia fue Staphylococcus aureus en 13 (28,9%) casos. El antibiótico más usado fue Vancomicina y 33 (73,3%) pacientes requirieron cirugía. Las complicaciones más frecuentes fueron cardiológicas y la tasa de mortalidad intrahospitalaria fue 24.4%. Conclusiones: La EI se presentó con mayor frecuencia en varones, con fiebre y soplo cardíaco, siendo la válvula aortica, la más afectada. El germen aislado más frecuente fue Staphylococcus y la tasa de mortalidad hospitalaria del 24%.

The most common site of endocarditis was over the aortic valve in 27 (60.0%). The most frequently isolated agent was Staphylococcus aureus in 13 (28.9%) cases. The most used antibiotic was Vancomycin and 33 (73.3%) patients required surgery. The most frequent complications were cardiological and the mortality rate was 24.4%. Conclusions: IE occurred more frequently in males, with fever and heart murmur, the aortic valve being the most affected. The most frequent isolated germ was Staphylococcus and the hospital mortality rate was 24%.
