Objetivo: Determinar el impacto sobre la calidad de vida relacionada a la salud bucal en adultos portadores de prótesis rehabilitados en la Clínica Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia en Lima en el año 2016, según variables sociodemográficas, tipo y tiempo de uso de prótesis dental. Materiales y métodos: Estudio descriptivo, transversal. de 108 pacientes de la Clínica Dental Docente de la UPCH. El instrumento utilizado para medir la calidad de vida en relación a la salud bucal fue el cuestionario OHIP-14sp Prótesis-Perú. Resultados: Se presenta el mayor impacto en la dimensión malestar psicológico con 75%, según tipo de prótesis en los pacientes que usan prótesis combinada con 33,33%, tiempo de uso en 13 meses a más con 37%, según género las mujeres con 73,15%, según edad de 31 a 59 años con 38,89%, según estado civil casados 50% y grado de instrucción superior con 53,70%. Se realizó un análisis de percentiles, encontrándose que la calidad de vida fue excelente en el 66,7% de pacientes, regular en el 22,2% y mala en el 11,1%. Conclusión: Se encontró que existe excelente calidad de vida en relación con la salud bucal en pacientes portadores de prótesis rehabilitados en la Clínica Dental Docente de la UPCH.Objective: To determine the impact on the quality of life related to oral health in adults with rehabilitated prostheses in the Teaching Dental Clinic of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima in 2016, according to sociodemographic variables, type, and time of use of dental prostheses. The instrument used to measure quality of life in relation to oral health was the OHIP-14sp Prostheses-Peru questionnaire. Results: There is an impact on the psychological distress dimension with 75%, according to type of prosthesis in patients who use combined prostheses with 33.33%, time of use in 13 months or more with 37%, according to gender women with 73.15%, according to age from 31 to 59 years with 38.89%, according to married marital status 50% and degree of higher education with 53.70%. A percentile analysis was performed, finding that quality of life was excellent in 66.7% of patients, fair in 22.2% and poor in 11.1%. Conclusion: It was found that there is excellent quality of life in relation to oral health in patients with rehabilitated prostheses in the Teaching Dental Clinic of the UPCH.
