dc.description.abstract	Introducción: La higiene oral es uno de los ámbitos más descuidado en salud bucal, teniendo como resultado una moderada prevalencia de infecciones odontogénicas. Existe una falta de concientización en relaciona a las posibles repercusiones que acarrea esta dolencia en nuestra población, sin tomar en cuanto factores que permiten una rápida evolución desfavorable, lo que conlleva a poner en riesgo la vida del paciente. Objetivo: Caracterizar a los pacientes que acudieron por infección odontogénica al Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia en el año 2023. Materiales y métodos: El presente estudio será de tipo trnasversal. Procedimientos básicos: Para la recolección de datos se solicitará el permiso correspondiente a las entidades pertinentes del servicio de Cirugía Bucal y Maxilofacial del Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, con el fin de revisar las historias clínicas realizadas de pacientes con un diagnóstico y alta definitiva de infección odontogénica durante el año 2023, teniendo en cuenta los criterios de inclusión. Resaltar que toda la información recopilada será incluida en una ficha de datos. Finalmente se realizará una tabulación de datos en el programa Microsoft Excel. La información recolectada será analizada utilizando el paquete estadístico STATA 18.0. Primero, se realizará un análisis descriptivo de todas las variables. Se aplicarán pruebas estadísticas según las variables a analizar y el tipo de datos recolectados. Se empleará la prueba de chi-cuadrado y la prueba t de Student. Se establecerá un nivel de significancia estadística del 5% (p < 0.05) y se utilizará un intervalo de confianza del 95% (IC 95%) para la interpretación de los resultados. Conclusiones: Servirá como herramienta para poder establecer las posibles relaciones entre las características particulares de pacientes con la evolución adecuada de una infección odontogénica. Asimismo, se obtendrá un dato epidemiológico de los pacientes con esta dolencia, lo cual podrá contribuir permitiendo instaurar un posible plan de prevención en los diversos centros de salud del país.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Introduction: Oral hygiene is one of the most neglected areas in oral health, resulting in a moderate prevalence of odontogenic infections. There is a lack of awareness regarding the possible repercussions that this disease entails in our population, without taking into account factors that allow a rapid unfavorable evolution, which leads to putting the patient's life at risk. Objective: To characterize the patients who came to the Teaching Dental Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia for odontogenic infection in 2023. Materials and methods: This study will be cross-sectional. Basic procedures: For data collection, the corresponding permission will be requested from the relevant entities of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service of the Teaching Dental Center of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, in order to review the clinical histories of patients with a diagnosis and definitive discharge of odontogenic infection during 2023, taking into account the inclusion criteria. It should be noted that all the information collected will be included in a data sheet. Finally, a data tabulation will be performed in the Microsoft Excel program. The information collected will be analyzed using the STATA 18.0 statistical package. First, a descriptive analysis of all variables will be performed. Statistical tests will be applied according to the variables to be analyzed and the type of data collected. The chi-square test and the Student t test will be used. A statistical significance level of 5% (p < 0.05) will be established and a 95% confidence interval (95% CI) will be used for the interpretation of the results. Conclusions: This will serve as a tool to establish possible relationships between the particular characteristics of patients and the appropriate evolution of an odontogenic infection. In addition, epidemiological data will be obtained from patients with this disease, which may contribute to establishing a possible prevention plan in the various health centers of the country.	es_ES
