Introducción: La tuberculosis, un problema de salud pública global con aumento de casos multidrogo resistentes en nuestro país, es una preocupación actual. Esto nos lleva a evaluar la Pirazinamida, un antibiótico con eficacia en bacilos latente de Mycobacterium tuberculosis. BACTEC MGIT 960 es un método para determinar la susceptibilidad a la Pirazinamida, aprobado por la Food and Drug Administration (FDA) por su confiabilidad y rapidez en realizar el diagnóstico de resistencia, si se tiene en cuenta las consideraciones técnicas adecuadas. Objetivo: Detallar las consideraciones técnicas necesarias para llevar a cabo eficazmente la prueba de susceptibilidad a la Pirazinamida en Mycobacterium tuberculosis utilizando el sistema BACTEC MGIT 960. Descripción del trabajo: Se identificaron las consideraciones técnicas para el método BACTEC MGIT 960, respaldado por evidencia científica de los últimos años. Según lo recopilado, se realizaron ajustes relacionados con la preparación del inóculo en el protocolo que existe para susceptibilidad a la Pirazinamida en BACTEC MGIT 960. Resultado: Se encontró que las consideraciones técnicas permitieron mejorar los resultados obtenidos por el método BACTEC MGIT 960 para Pirazinamida. Description of the work: Technical considerations for the BACTEC MGIT 960 method were identified, supported by scientific evidence from recent years. According to what was collected, adjustments related to the preparation of the inoculum were made in the protocol that exists for susceptibility to Pyrazinamide in BACTEC MGIT 960. Result: It was found that technical considerations allowed improving the results obtained by the BACTEC MGIT 960 method for Pyrazinamide. Conclusion: Correctly executing the technical considerations for BACTEC MGIT 960 for Pyrazinamide Susceptibility guarantees the reliability of the test.
