Antecedentes: La funcionalidad familiar es el conjunto de relaciones interpersonales que permite la satisfacción de cada uno de sus integrantes, impide la aparición de conductas de riesgo y a la vez facilita el desarrollo integral de los miembros del grupo familiar. Por otro lado, el consumo de alcohol en la adolescencia provoca una carga de morbilidades futuras, de las cuales tienen importantes inferencias como las sociales y las económicas. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre funcionalidad familiar y consumo de alcohol en adolescentes de una Institución Educativa Nacional de Chorrillos el año 2023. Material y método: Tipo de estudio observacional, diseño descriptivo correlacional y de corte transversal. La población ha sido establecida con 144 estudiantes. Para la recopilación de información, la técnica utilizada fue la entrevista y el instrumento dos cuestionarios, el primer cuestionario de Test de Funcionalidad Familiar (FF-SIL) y el segundo cuestionario es el Test AUDIT. Para el análisis de datos se empleó la prueba estadística no paramétrica Rho de Spearman. Resultados: El coeficiente de correlación Rho de Spearman (Rho = -0,234), muestra una correlación negativa o inversa entre las variables funcionalidad familiar y consumo de alcohol, la cual resulto estadísticamente significativa (p=0,005). Conclusiones: Se evidencia que existe una correlación entre las variables funcionalidad familiar y consumo de alcohol en los adolescentes, el nivel de funcionalidad familiar que prevaleció fue moderadamente funcional con el 59,3%, y el consumo de alcohol presentó un nivel de bajo riesgo con el 74,5% en los adolescentes.Background: Family functionality is the set of interpersonal relationships that allows the satisfaction of each of its members, prevents the appearance of risk behaviors and at the same time facilitates the integral development of the members of the family group. On the other hand, alcohol consumption in adolescence causes a burden of future morbidities, of which there are important social and economic inferences. Objective: To determine the relationship between family functionality and alcohol consumption in adolescents of a National Educational Institution of Chorrillos in the year 2023. Material and methods: Observational study type, descriptive correlational and cross-sectional design. The population has been established with 144 students. For the collection of information, the technique used was the interview and the instrument was two questionnaires, the first questionnaire was the Family Functionality Test (FF-SIL) and the second questionnaire was the AUDIT Test. The Spearman's Rho nonparametric statistical test was used for data analysis. Results: Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient (Rho = -0.234), shows a negative or inverse correlation between the variables family functionality and alcohol consumption, which was statistically significant (p=0.005). Conclusions: It is evident that there is a correlation between the variables family functionality and alcohol consumption in adolescents, the prevailing level of family functionality was moderately functional with 59.3%, and alcohol consumption presented a low risk level with 74.5% in adolescents.
