dc.description.abstract	Introducción: La cirugía ortognática como tratamiento para las deformidades dentofaciales se encuentra entre una de las cirugías más complejas para el cirujano maxilofacial. El éxito depende del diagnóstico y la formulación de un plan quirúrgico preciso, desde una base fundamental de una adecuada evaluación clínica, registros y exámenes auxiliares. Debido a los importantes y grandes avances tecnológicos en las herramientas aplicadas para el diagnóstico, se puede determinar con gran exactitud la ubicación y dimensión de las alteraciones en los tres planos del espacio de los maxilares y macizo facial, diseñar y planificar la técnica quirúrgica e incluso el material de osteosíntesis a ser empleado; impactando positivamente en el éxito de los resultados y contribuyendo a la demanda y frecuencia de estos procedimientos quirúrgicos, considerándolo como un tratamiento más seguro. Objetivo: El objetivo de este proyecto de investigación es determinar los movimientos realizados en los maxilares en las cirugías ortognáticas realizadas en el servicio de Cirugía Maxilofacial de la Clínica Dental Docente de la Facultad de Estomatología de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia en el período 2015 al 2024. Materiales y métodos: Es un estudio de tipo transversal y descriptivo. Se tomará la información de las historias clínicas de los pacientes tratados durante el período 2015 al 2024. Los datos serán evaluados de acuerdo a los objetivos, aplicando las pruebas estadísticas correspondientes. Finalmente, se construirán tablas y gráficos en función de los resultados encontrados. Conclusiones: Este estudio apoya la gran importancia de caracterizar y relacionar los tipos de movimientos maxilares o mandibulares realizados a los pacientes durante cirugía ortognática para permitir una mejora en su planificación previa y relacionar post operatoriamente con los resultados obtenidos.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Introduction: Orthognathic surgery as a treatment for dentofacial deformities is among the most complex surgeries for the maxillofacial surgeon. Success depends on the diagnosis and the formulation of an accurate surgical plan, based fundamentally on an adequate clinical evaluation, records, and auxiliary examinations. Due to the significant technological advances in diagnostic tools, the location and extent of abnormalities in the three planes of the maxilla and facialmass can be determined with great accuracy. The surgical technique and even the osteosynthesis material to be used can be designed and planned. This has a positive impact on the success of the results and contributes to the demand and frequency of these surgical procedures, considering it a safer treatment. Objective: The objective of this research project is to determine the maxillary movements performed during orthognathic surgeries in the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the Teaching Dental Clinic of the Faculty of Stomatology at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia from 2015 to 2024. Materials and Methods: This is across-sectional and descriptive study. Information will be collected from the medical records of patients treated from 2015 to 2024. The data will be evaluated according to the objectives, applying the corresponding statistical tests. Finally, tables and graphs will be constructed based on the results. Conclusions: This study supports the importance of characterizing and correlating the types of maxillary or mandibular movements performed on patients during orthognathic surgery to improve preoperative planning and to correlate postoperative results with the results obtained.	es_ES
