La cirugía ha evolucionado desde procedimientos rudimentarios hasta intervenciones complejas, pero siempre ha presentado riesgos y tasas de mortalidad. La lista de verificación de cirugía segura busca minimizar estos riesgos a través de una serie de pasos estandarizados que deben seguirse antes, durante y después de la cirugía. Objetivo: Describir la eficacia del manejo adecuado de la lista de verificación de cirugía por el profesional de enfermería en el entorno quirúrgico Método: El estudio se realizará en base a una revisión bibliográfica de artículos científicos, descriptiva, documental, observacional y de tipo retrospectivo con análisis de fuentes secundarias. Resultados: se obtuvo la búsqueda bibliográfica en la base de datos: Pubmed, Science Direct, Dialnet y Scielo, las cuales en conjunto se encontraron 150 artículos de investigación publicados durante los años 2020 al 2024, tras una rigurosa revisión se seleccionó 15 artículos científicos según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. En los cuales se encontró que la eficacia en el uso de esta herramienta se ve afectada por el llenado incompleto de la lista, así como también por la falta de comunicación efectiva entre los miembros del equipo quirúrgico. Por otro lado, la falta de capacitación continua del personal sobe la importancia de la LVCS también merma la eficacia de esta herramienta. Conclusión: Se evidencia una buena eficacia en el manejo de la LVCS cuando existe un llenado completo de todos los ítems de la lista, una buena comunicación entre los miembros del equipo y una capacitación adecuada y continua del personal.Surgery has evolved from rudimentary procedures to complex interventions, but it has always presented risks and mortality rates. Objective: To describe the effectiveness of the proper management of the surgery checklist by the nursing professional in the surgical environment. Method: The study will be carried out based on a bibliographic review of scientific articles, descriptive, documentary, observational and retrospective with analysis of secondary sources. Results: the bibliographic search was obtained in the database: Pubmed, Science Direct, Dialnet and Scielo, which together found 150 research articles published during the years 2020 to 2024, after a rigorous review, 15 scientific articles were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. In which it was found that the effectiveness in the use of this tool is affected by incomplete filling of the list, as well as by the lack of effective communication between members of the surgical team. On the other hand, the lack of continuous training of personnel on the importance of the LVCS also reduces the effectiveness of this tool. Conclusion: Good effectiveness is evident in the management of the LVCS when there is complete completion of all the items on the list, good communication between team members and adequate and continuous training of the staff..
