dc.description.abstract	Introducción: Las infecciones odontogénicas constituyen una de las patologías más frecuentes en la práctica odontológica y pueden originarse por caries, pericoronitis, enfermedad periodontal, trauma o complicaciones endodónticas. Su diseminación hacia espacios de cabeza y cuello puede generar complicaciones severas, lo que resalta la necesidad de un diagnóstico temprano y un manejo oportuno. Objetivo: Determinar la frecuencia de infecciones odontogénicas leves atendidas en el servicio de Cirugía Oral y Maxilofacial de un centro dental docente en Lima, Perú, en 2025. Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional, descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo. La población estará conformada por todos los pacientes atendidos en el servicio de Cirugía Oral y Maxilofacial durante el año 2025. La información se recopilará a partir de historias clínicas físicas y electrónicas. Las variables incluirán: frecuencia de infecciones odontogénicas leves, edad, sexo, pieza dentaria causal, espacio anatómico facial primario y conducta terapéutica. Conclusión: Se espera que el estudio determine la frecuencia de esta patología en la población atendida, brindando información relevante para enfatizar la importancia del diagnóstico precoz y del tratamiento oportuno. Los resultados constituirán un aporte para la práctica clínica y docente, orientando estrategias de manejo y prevención en beneficio de los pacientes y la formación de especialistas.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Introduction: Odontogenic infections are among the most frequent conditions in dental practice and may arise from caries, pericoronitis, periodontal disease, trauma, or endodontic complications. Their spread to adjacent head and neck spaces can lead to severe outcomes, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and timely management. Objective: To determine the frequency of mild odontogenic infections treated at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service of a dental teaching center in Lima, Peru, in 2025. Materials and methods: This will be an observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective study. The study population will include all patients treated at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service during 2025. Data will be collected from both physical and electronic medical records. The variables will include: frequency of mild odontogenic infections, age, sex, causal tooth, primary facial anatomical space involved, and therapeutic management. Conclusion: The study is expected to determine the frequency of this condition in the target population, providing relevant information to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment. The findings will contribute to clinical and academic practice, guiding management and prevention strategies for the benefit of patients and the training of specialists.	es_ES
