The appearance of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the imperative need to take measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Consequently, changes occurred at a personal, health, social, and educational level. University teachers were not oblivious to the changes brought by the COVID-19; they carried out a distance learning modality through telecommuting, thus, having to sit for long periods of time to work. This has resulted in the lack of physical activity (PA), high job demands, and poor sleep quality (SQ). Up to date, there has been a few research that determines an association between PA and SQ during the COVID-19 pandemic, although there are a few studies of both variables independently in Europe, Asia, the USA, and Latin America. Objective. To determine the relationship between the level of physical activity and sleep quality in professors from the School of Medical Technology (ETM) of the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University (UPCH) during the COVID-19 state of health emergency. Material and Methods. This is a cross-sectional study that describes the relationship between PA and SQ, which uses instruments such as the IPAQ to measure the level of PA, and the PSQI to measure SQ. The research participants were professors from the ETM of the UPCH. Results. A relationship between PA and SQ was found p<0,05. Conclusion. A relationship between SQ and PA was found in professors from the ETM – UPCH during the COVID-19 state of health emergency; 42,5% of the participants presented poor QS and low levels of PA.
